Hartford Bible Church

Hartford Bible Church Formed as 1st Congregational Church in 1847, the original building on Branch & Church Streets was begun in 1853. In 2016, we moved to 621 Abbott Ave.

and took the name Hartford Bible Church to better explain who we are, at a glance. Visitors are always welcome! Sunday School for all ages begins at 9:00 am, and Worship each Sunday begins at 10 am - including a Nursery for children 3 and under, and Children's Church up to age 10. This Wednesday, 12/31/25, we're hosting a game day and dinner at HBC, free and open to all!
Beginning at 2 pm, board games of all kinds, plus ping-pong, will be available, or bring your own! Open-house style - come when you can, leave when you have to.
Snacks all afternoon!
At 5 pm, we'll have a supper together. Bring something to share if you want (no alcohol, though), or just come; there's always plenty!
For those who want to stay, at 6:30 pm, we'll have a reflective communion service and then call it a night (and a year).

Exciting news!! Next Tuesday, 10/7/25, begins our fifth year of hosting JYC - the Junior Youth Challenge! This is an after-school faith-based club at Central Middle School (1100 Cedar St. in Hartford). All students in 6th - 8th grade, even if not a student at Central, are welcome!
3:30 - 5:00 pm on 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Tuesdays of the month. On 4th Tuesdays, we encourage the students to join JYC leaders in serving our community at Ruby's Pantry.
No cost to students (or parents)! Students will enjoy games, snacks, music, Bible lessons, Q&A, "Store Days", and more! JYC is a program of CEF (the Good News Club people).
