Each year, the First Pres family donates 24 backpacks filled with school supplies for children and youth served by Covenant to Care. Won't you join us this year? You can sponsor a full backpack for $25, but any donation amount is welcome.

Last week, the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) gathered in Milwaukee, WI. The General Assembly is the highest governing body of the Presbyterian Church (USA). It serves as the denomination's national council and gathers representatives from presbyteries across the United States to discern God's leading, make decisions about the life of the church, and set broad policies and priorities. Michael Ofori, a child of our church (pictured here, on the left), served as a Young Adult Advisory Delegate (YAAD) representing our Presbytery. These young adults, generally ages 18–23, participate in discussions and advise commissioners. They have voice and advisory votes but do not cast binding votes. Michael was joined by other commissioners in our Presbytery, including Rachelle Lee and Kevin White, also pictured here. Ask Michael about this experience! And thank you, Michael, for your service!

What a joyful way to end this year's Strawberry Celebration! 🍓

Our annual Strawberry Celebration has been a First Presbyterian tradition for more than 30 years, and this year's final day was filled with laughter, conversation, community, and ...a little bit of wind! From strawberry shortcake and hot dogs to children's bingo, lawn games, raffle prizes, the Really Really Free Market, and our "This Is Us" community art project with Artist-in-Residence Darby Finn, it was a day full of connection and celebration.

Thank you to our incredible committee members, volunteers, staff, Hive partners, and everyone whose generosity and dedication made this event possible. Most of all, thank you to everyone who joined us, shared a meal, bought raffle tickets, and invested in the future of our service learning projects. Your presence is what makes this tradition so special, and we can't wait to celebrate with you throughout our 175th anniversary year!

Our annual Strawberry Celebration continues this Friday, June 19, from 12 to 2 p.m. Strawberry shortcake with homemade biscuits and whipped cream, with fresh local strawberries… only $8!Homemade strawberry jam while supplies last. Plus, we’ll have some merch and a raffle.

We were so honored that our church was able to be immersed in community yesterday at Hartford Capital City Pride, where we offered a sensory-friendly sanctuary for attendees! We are proud be be part of Presbyterian Promise through the Presbytery of Southern New England, proclaiming God’s promise of justice and love in Jesus Christ and supporting the empowerment of le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender and q***r people through education, outreach and advocacy.
