On every Sunday of the church year, we praise our triune God. Yet today, this Trinity Sunday, we attend especially to the mystery of our three-in-one God. Please joine us for worship at 10 a.m., either onsite or online, and receive the blessings that the Trinity gives.

The Holy Trinity reminds us that relationship is woven into the very nature of God.

As Creator, God brings life into being. As Savior, God draws near in love and redemption. As Comforter, God remains present, guiding and sustaining us through every season.

At the heart of the Trinity is a relationship of love, shared, given, and received. Created in the image of this relational God, we are called to live in community, practice radical welcome, and care for one another as Christ cares for us.

On this Trinity Sunday, may we give thanks for the mystery of a God who creates, saves, comforts, and continually invites us into deeper relationship with God and one another.

Today is Pentecost, the fiftieth day of Easter, and we keep the resurrection of Christ by celebrating the Spirit of the Risen Christ in our midst, empowering and enlivening each of us. Jesus Christ has not gone away but is here with us: we stand to greet him as we hear him speak in the gospel reading, and we share in his body and blood in the Holy Communion meal. Please join us for worship this morning at 10 a.m., either onsite or online, as the Holy Spirit enters in once again.

On Tuesday, Vicar Calli and Pastor Mark were happy to represent Emanuel at this year's Partners in Possibilities luncheon in Wallingford, a fundraising event benefitting Mosaic in Connecticut, one of Emanuel's ministry partners. Pastor Mark delivered the invocation, and both conveyed to Mosaic in Connecticut Emanuel's gift of $5,000 in support of their ministry. It was a fun, inspiring, and hope-filled event.

Please join us for worship this morning at 10 a.m., either onsite or online, as we celebrate Ascension of Our Lord Sunday. Ascension reminds us that faith is not about standing still looking upward. It is about living boldly in the world God loves—sharing mercy, seeking justice, and walking alongside our neighbors with compassion. See you soon!

Join us in prayer as we celebrate the Ascension of Our Lord.

Almighty God, your blessed Son, our Savior Jesus Christ, ascended far above all heavens that he might fill all things. Mercifully give us faith to trust that, as he promised, he abides with us on earth to the end of time, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. —Bread for the Day

Today is the day on which the church celebrates the Ascension of Our Lord (a festival we will observe at Emanuel this coming Sunday). "Ascension reminds us that faith is not about standing still looking upward. It is about living boldly in the world God loves—sharing mercy, seeking justice, and walking alongside our neighbors with compassion."

As Jesus ascended, the disciples did not leave in despair.

They left worshiping with joy.

Ascension reminds us that faith is not about standing still looking upward. It is about living boldly in the world God loves—sharing mercy, seeking justice, and walking alongside our neighbors with compassion.

May we continue the work Christ has placed into our hands.

In the gospel reading for this Sunday, Jesus says that he will not leave us as orphans, that we will receive another Advocate. One of the places where we are washed, fed, embraced and sustained by God is at worship. Please join us for worship this morning at 10 a.m., either onsite or online, as we reflect on how the Spirit of the Risen Christ, our Advocate, calls us to act as advocates for others.

On this Mother’s Day, we give thanks for all who have shown us love that stays close, steady, and faithful through every season of life.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus promises: “I will not leave you orphaned.” — John 14:18

In moments of joy and in times of loss, God’s presence remains with us. Love does not abandon us. Grace does not let us go.

The words of today’s gospel are most often heard during a funeral service. The gospel begins by Jesus saying that he will prepare a place for each one of us in the presence of God, but as the text continues, we can see that our place is not an isolated room of our own in a giant heavenly mansion. Jesus’ words are less about a place than a relationship: our relationship with Jesus and God the Father; a relationship that supports us through every time of transition, not just the transition from this life to the next. Come to worship this morning at 10:00 a.m., either onsite or online, and together we will receive the Spirit of the Risen Christ, who is the way, the truth, and the life.

“I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life.” -John 14:6

When the road feels uncertain, we return to the One who walks with us.

Not every step is clear—but we are not without direction.

In Christ, we find the way forward.

In the early centuries of the church, when Christians first began to draw pictures of Jesus, they depicted him as the good shepherd. Today at worship, we will hear part of John 10, a chapter that elaborates on the image of Jesus as the shepherd. Please join us for worship at 10 a.m., either onsite or online, and join with other sheep of his flock to honor our shepherd, who came that we may have life and have it abundantly.

“I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” -John 10:10

Not a life without hardship.
Not a life untouched by grief.

But a life rooted in love.
A life shaped by purpose.
A life that cannot be reduced to fear.

In a world that often feels scarce and uncertain, Christ speaks a different word:
There is more.
More grace.
More hope.
More life.
