Instead of waiting as many as four years for a constitutional amendment, the state House of Representatives debated Monday over a controversial bill that would immediately expand the state’s absentee ballot rules for sickness and being out of town.

If you're a Connecticut voter who is voting absentee for the November 3 election, you can submit your ballot via mail OR via an official drop box. According to the law passed by the legislature this summer, each town must have at least one secure dropbox where voters can submit absentee ballots.
