Meet Camp Good Shepherd Virginia 2026 staff member Angelo Dacey!

I have been a parishioner of Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church since it was founded in 2007 and have always been an active member, participating in Hope and Joy, GOYA, GOYA basketball, the Christmas pageant, teaching Sunday school, serving in the altar, and chanting. I am currently a contractor for Meta and also teach the Greek language part time. My favorite hobbies are playing tennis, reading, hunting, hiking, going on drives on backroads, riding motorcycles, and exploring new places. I am a graduate of George Mason University and look forward to beginning the next chapter of my academic journey at Holy Cross Seminary in the Fall.

Meet Camp Good Shepred Virginia 2026 Staff Member Garrett Krawzik!

Hi, I’m Garrett! I grew up going to camp good shepherd and serving at St. Nicholas in Virginia Beach, I currently attend Old Dominion University where I am studying Political Science with a minor in Philosophy to eventually attend law school. I love hiking, working out reading, and I play rugby for my school. I’m most excited for meeting my group of kids to build those bonds and for the cookout the last day!

Meet Camp Good Shepherd Virginia 2026 staff member Sotiria Bessinas!

Howdy, Sotiria is so excited to be at camp again after missing out last year! Sotiria was finishing her MEd in Curriculum and Instruction last summer and had to present her Capstone in the middle of camp, but now she’s graduated from the great Texas A&M University with two degrees and can’t wait to be back at Camp Good Shepherd. This will make her 12th summer involved with camp, whether as a camper or a staff member, and she could not be more excited to see everyone’s beautiful faces, to have FUN, and to grow in our faith together. Meet Camp Good Shepherd Virginia 2026 Staff Member Anastasia Rubis!!!

Anastasia Rubis is thrilled to be back at CGS this summer! She just graduated from William & Mary with a double major in Psychology and Kinesiology and plans on attending graduate school at Emory University in the fall to pursue her Master’s in Nursing. She is proud to call Richmond, VA her home, but is excited for the adventure in Atlanta. Anastasia is a camp veteran and has attended CGS every summer since 2015 (except for last summer, where she was a counselor at Ionian Village in Greece!). Her heart belongs to camp, and she’s so excited to see everyone’s shining faces and have the best week ever!

Hi, my name is Demetri Cain from the Annunciation Cathedral in Norfolk, Virginia. I just completed my first year as a Seminarian at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology. I am so excited to be returning for my 10th year of camp and my 5th year as a counselor. I can’t wait to get back to camp!

Meet your Camp Good Shepherd VA Camp Director Fr. Thomas Manuel!

Fr. Thomas Manuel is the priest at Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church in Chantilly, VA. He is the married to his lovely presvytera Elizabeth, has two boys, Vasili and Thanasi, and is waiting for number three to come this August. Fr. Thomas has been the Director of Camp Good Shepherd Virginia since 2024. He loves everything to do with summer camp. His first year at camp was in 1994, 32 years age, at the age of 6! Since then he has rarely had a summer without some life at summer camp. He has been working with Camp Good Shepherd Virginia camp since its inception in 2015. He is most excited to see the children in chapel chanting their hearts out and asking the tough questions about their life in Christ that they rarely if ever ask outside of summer camp settings.

The early bird registration for summer camp ends this Sunday, May 31st. The early bird registration is $600 per camper, the full price starting Monday, June 1st is $650 per camper.
