How will you become more like Jesus Christ today?
2 Nephi 31:20

"I know that as we take that one step closer to Jesus Christ everyday that we can become like Him and live with our Father in Heaven!"

This is from Sister Courtney Palmer,

In the story of the man born blind, after Christ had healed him and this man could finally see, the Pharisees questioned the man to try and condemn Jesus.

The Pharisees said “Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner. He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.”

This man didn’t quite know who Jesus was yet, but he could boldly testify that it was by Christ’s power that he could see, something he hadn’t been able to do his entire life.

We might have questions and not know everything, but we can have faith in our Savior Jesus Christ and the truths we do know. And we can continue to increase our faith as we learn of Him, follow Him, and hear Him. As we do, we will be able to confidently say “I once was lost, but now I'm found, was blind but now I see” because Jesus is the master Healer and the Good Shepherd.

I ran into a woman last night who had a tremendous influence on my life. I dare say she was one of the most influential mentors of my teenage years.

She is one of the great souls.

Ardeth Kapp. She was the Young Women General President when I was a girl. When our eyes met, her face lit up, and she waved me over. We talked for a few minutes, and she called me one of “her girls.”

As soon as she said it, my heart caught fire. I was 14 again.

I am still not quite sure how she accomplished it, but somehow she instilled so much purpose within my heart. In those days, she was a maker of magic. She knew how to stir souls.

She is 90 years old now, and she still has that sparkle in her eyes.

I felt empowered again as she gathered me up in her arms and whispered of my goodness. I walked away so honored that she considers me one of her girls. Me.

If you were to run into her, I think she would say the same thing about you, about your goodness.

And you know who else would?
Our Heavenly Father.

Oh, there are days I wish He would gather me up in His arms and whisper of my goodness, of my potential, of the plans He has in store for me.

I just want Him to remind me there are good days to come.
I have never seen His eyes, but I am confident they sparkle.

Perhaps He would whisper of my potential and tell me to look for His goodness in my story, and then He would remind me who I am.

One of His girls.
A daughter of God.
Remember who you are.

With Love,
President Emily Belle Freeman
Young Women General President

“Strive to live by faith in the confinements of his word – We don’t give to get, but we expect. Our focus is being obedient to what he asks of us and his word, and we let Him in His perfect timing take care of the rest.”
- Jonathan Isaac - Power Forward for the Orlando Magic

Anyone who knows me knows my love for basketball, in particular, Utah Jazz basketball. So anytime I have an opportunity to hear of a player’s faith, I usually grab on to it.

To me, a person admired by others, publicly declaring their love for our Savior, is one of the most beautiful things and actually brings so many emotions of love to the surface. I feel that the reach of people is so incredible, and I always hope that their testimony touches the right person who is seeking the answers they need.

Our Lord and Savior is the same person in so many different religions. Seeing the love that Jonathan Isaac has for Christ is truly incredible. I hope and pray that his faith has touched young souls who look up to him.

My son Norman has been diagnosed with cancer. Some moments of this diagnosis feel heavy and overwhelming. Sometimes the future feels so uncertain. I don’t completely understand the timing of it all. In these moments I try to turn my gaze up to heaven and focus on the Savior and His message found in Doctrine and Covenants 6:36- Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not.

I am continuing to have faith and trust in the Lord and His plan. I'm also reminded that our trials help us to become who God needs us to be but they also help us to come to know Christ on a more intimate level. When we turn our hearts to the Savior, He can heal us.

I am so grateful for my dad. He has helped me in so many different ways, especially when it comes to my faith. A while back I was having some trouble forgiving myself for sins and mistakes that I have made. I told my dad about the trouble that I was having. He was very understanding and talked to me about my testimony. He talked about Peter and how he had an incredible strong testimony but he wasn’t fully converted. He had a strong belief in Christ, but he didn’t fully understand what that meant for him. He knew I had a strong testimony so he asked me what my knowledge and faith about the atonement meant to me. This helped me see that I can be forgiven for any past mistakes I have made, and any I will make throughout my life.

Jesus is the Christ.

A few days ago I had a few extra minutes while I was on campus at BYU. I ran to the museum of art there and asked a worker where’s the best place to go. Downstairs. So I ran down there and sat on the bench facing this painting of the advent of Jesus Christ and angels there supporting an understandably exhausted and overwhelmed Mary and Joseph.

I saw this boy run away from his mom and sisters and reach for the tether around the painting. He playfully swung on it for a second before he was suddenly calm with his attention focused on Jesus.

It was a good reminder to me that angels who glorify Jesus Christ are both in heaven and on earth.

I know that is true. I feel it everyday and know that when we let God, he will give us angelic opportunities to bless others of His children too. That’s how much he loves His earthly family. He’s more than willing to let us be His hands.

I love Him and encourage us all to find ways to glorify Him. To recognize the angels He sends our way and to be them for others.

God is good and He won’t stop being good.❤️
