Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) is deeply shocked and outraged by the alleged admissions of guilt made by the former state director in Vermont. The individual in question was terminated immediately. The safety and wellbeing of children is our absolute highest priority. We have a zero-tolerance policy for any behavior that harms or endangers minors. We are fully cooperating with law enforcement as they conduct their investigation.
CEF is committed to upholding the highest standards of morality and personal conduct that have guided the ministry since its founding in 1937. CEF maintains a strict Child Protection Policy designed to protect children and guide the conduct of those serving. All volunteers and staff are required to undergo a screening, national and state criminal background checks, and a s*x offender check prior to their participation in any CEF sponsored ministry event. Furthermore, CEF has long required a two-adult rule where no child is ever alone with a single adult in any of the CEF programs.
We continue to pray for everyone involved in this situation.
