This Mother’s Day, let’s pause for a moment of reflection.

For some, today is filled with love, memories, and gratitude for the mothers and mother-figures who nurtured us. For others, it brings grief, longing, or pain from loss, absence, or difficult relationships.

Mother’s Day can be a celebration, a struggle, or both. And that’s okay.

Prayer:

Heavenly father, thank you for the gift of mothers and all their forms. Comfort those who grieve, heal those who hurt, and bless those who carry the weight of complicated feelings today. Remind us that your love holds us, no matter our story. Amen.

“Then Jesus told them this parable: “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.”
