Early Church

Early Church Early Church is a body of believers who seek to follow Christ in their everyday lives.

Members of Early Church are especially committed to serving the Northern Harrisonburg community as it interfaces with Our Community Place, a local non-profit organization that seeks to promote personal growth and community well-being. Early Church is a part of the larger Mennonite Church and adheres to the Confession of Faith of that body.

As we have witnessed the recent and persistent violence upon black bodies, we are offering this collection of laments that come from many voices across MC USA. They are written by pastors, leaders, lay people, students — people from different races, cultures, languages.

We invite you to pray and lament along with them, hoping you will find the words you need to pray deeply in this time.

Video for Lent Week 3 - Becoming Weaker - Jean Vanier

Jean Vanier is often referred to as a living saint. His life work, building Christian community among the physically and mental disadvantaged, has inspired a generation of Jesus followers to re-evaluate how we think of worth and power. What does it mean to us that our Lord, not able to carry his own cross, looked to Simon for help?
