There was a small Church of Christ in Harrison on South Pine, later moving to Central and Cherry where the people from Bellefonte attended for some twelve years. By this time there were several families living in and around Bellefonte. In 1948 a decision was made to start a Church of Christ in Bellefonte. Two of the members, Bertie and Mattie Young, owned a building in Bellefonte that had been bui

lt for a garage, which they agreed to sell. Bolin, Arthur Dodson and Shinn Tennyson were appointed Board of Trustees. Albert Dillard from Bergman preached the first sermon for the Bellefonte congregation on April 18, 1948. Those in attendance at this time were: Lee Dickey family, Loma Dodson family, Bertie Young family, Arthur Dodson family, John Bolin family, Shinn Tennyson family, Byrom McCutcheon family, Hiram McCutcheon family, James Dickey family, Bill Salmon family, Sallie Hamilton, Edd Mahan family, Kenneth Greenhaw family, J.W. Dodson family, Tom Bolin family, Earl Salmon family and possibly others. Presently, Ray Crawford serves as evangelist; Joe Collins, Dale Crunkleton,Mike Brothers and Buzz Toland serve as elders; and Bobby Evans, Mike Dodson, Jeremy Hill, Randall Dias & Tommy Dixon serve as deacons.

THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR NOT
BELIEVING IN GOD
Romans 1:20 presents an interesting "5 W's"
concerning why no one has any legitimate excuse
for not believing in God. Here is the text: "For
since the creation of the world His' invisible
attributes? are clearly seen, being understood by the
things that are made4 ', even His' eternal power and
Godhead? , so that they are without excuse"

1. Who? God. The eternal, existent One. The
only one, true God.
2. What? Witnessing and knowing about God's
existence and His true nature and power. The
evidence and proof is more than abundant.
3. When? Since the very beginning - throughout
all of time. There has never been a time when
people could not know that there is a God
4. Where? Literally everywhere the creation can
be seen. It is evident and can be clearly observed
and deciphered by all.
5. Why? So that we may believe. If we examine
all of this evidence and do not believe, then we are
without excuse.
