The Jewish Community Center of Harrison

The Jewish Community Center of Harrison Founded in 1960, the Jewish Community Center of Harrison is a community synagogue for progressive Conservative Judaism, welcoming to all.

While, as our name suggests, we serve the Conservative Jewish community of Harrison, many of our congregants come from neighboring towns throughout Southern and Central Westchester including Rye, Scarsdale, Mamaroneck and White Plains. Through a variety of initiatives, we also serve and support our extended family in the State of Israel. With approximately 350 member families, the JCCH is large en

ough to be a full-service congregation that allows you to practice time-honored traditions and expand Jewish horizons, yet small enough for you to be known by our clergy and welcome by all. We place the highest premium on inclusiveness. Whether yours is a traditional household, LGBT, single-parent, blended family, a family with only one Jewish parent or have a family member with special needs, there are programs carefully designed to accommodate you and your loved ones. Our mission extends well beyond the spiritual. We are also dedicated to educational and recreational enrichment. Our award-winning Early Childhood Center is premised on the notion that play is the most important "work" of the young child and is committed to providing a lifetime love of learning. Our Religious School not only trains our younger congregants for B'nai Mitzvot, but also for a life guided by the Jewish values of justice (tzedek), repairing the world (tikkun olam), acts of loving kindness (gemiulut hesed) and Jewish peoplehood (klal yisrael). We invite you to browse the rest of our website – including past issues of the Scribe (Link), our monthly newsletter, to learn more, or better still, to arrange for a visit and tour our synagogue. You would find yourself most welcome.

Amazing!

It was such a joy to host, along with UJA-Federation of New York and the Claims Conference (Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany), a luncheon for members of our WJCS program. They, along with family members and caregivers, joined us at Beth El Synagogue Center in for an afternoon of celebration, music, and delicious food from Seasons Scarsdale. Our guests, as always, enjoyed being together and even cooperated when we asked them to sit for a group picture! We wish everyone who celebrates a Happy Passover!

So sad…

We are deeply saddened by the passing of David Leitner, also known as "Dugo." For the past two years, thousands from the community had joined Dugo on January 18th, the day he started marching in the Death march, eating Falafel to celebrate the Jewish people's victory over the N***s and the establishment of an independent country. We will continue this tradition again this year in his memory.
