St. Thomas Anglican Church Harrison Arkansas

St. Thomas Anglican Church Harrison Arkansas We are a mission Church in the Orthodox Anglican Church. We hold to the 1928 BCP and use the Anglican Missal. We are located in Harrison Arkansas. St.

Our Core Values:
We hold to the doctrines of the first Seven Ecumenical Councils. We believe the Holy Scriptures to be the revealed word of God. We believe in the Apostle's and Nicene Creeds. We believe in the Seven Sacraments. We believe in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist. We believe in the sanctity of human life. We believe marriage as being defined as between one man and one woman.

We believe and hold to Apostolic Succession of male clergy. We are determined by the help of God to hold and maintain the Doctrine, the Seven Sacraments, and the Discipline of Christ as the Lord hath commanded in His Holy Word and as this Church hath received and set forth the same in the Book of Common Prayer; to maintain the Scriptural and Apostolical Form of Episcopal Church Government; and to transmit the same sacred trust unimpaired to our posterity. OUR MISSION:
The Mission of St. Thomas Anglican Church is to perpetuate the faith, order, worship and witness of the Anglican Faith as it existed in the Church of England from around 200 A.D., to the time of the great schism and set forth by the "ancient catholic bishops and doctors," and especially as defined by the Seven Ecumenical Councils of the undivided Church. Thomas is Catholic because it accepts the doctrines of the ancient Church which has been "believed everywhere, always and by all."

Prayer for Memorial Day

ALMIGHTY God, our heavenly Father, in whose hands are the living and the dead; We give thee thanks for all those thy servants who have laid down their lives in the service of our country. Grant to them thy mercy and the light of thy presence, that the good work which thou hast begun in them may be perfected; through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord. Amen.

A great Anglican resource. This book is available in Google Books. You can also order a copy off Amazon. The Anglican Brief Against Roman Claims is a great rebuttal to many of the modern Roman claims against faithful Anglican Churches. Here is a small peak.

Today is the first day of Lent. For those who observe this season, may God bring you special blessings as you engage in self examination, repentance, and a closer walk with God. For those who don't may I encourage you to research this historic observation by many in the Church and to join in this season of self reflection in order that you may follow Christ more perfectly and in purity of heart with humility and gratefulness to God for the means of salvation found in Jesus Christ our Lord.
Many blessings!

ALMIGHTY and everlasting God, who hatest nothing that thou hast made, and dost forgive the sins of all those who are penitent; Create and make in us new and contrite hearts, that we, worthily lamenting our sins and acknowledging our wretchedness, may obtain of thee, the God of all mercy, perfect remission and forgiveness; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
