This year, Crosby Township had planned for their usual outdoor Memorial Day Commemoration, complete with parade, 21-gun salute, outstanding choir and distinguished speakers. It's something that the community looks forward to, and crowds gather together for.

This year, the rain changed the plans, and the celebration was held indoors at the Community Center. Township Administrator Christina Vennemeier and Trustee Dennis Heyob addressed the announcements and introductions. Pastor Dale West opened and closed the celebration with prayer, and the featured speaker was Retired Army Veteran Ron Beecher.

As usual, it was a wonderful tribute to the military personnel who have died while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.

The CrossWay men's group is intentional about getting together on a regular basis. In addition to 7am Tuesday breakfast meetings at Bob Evans, they also strive to have fun monthly outings: movie nights, game nights, sports events and so on. In June, they had planned an outdoor co****le game, but the weather sent them inside. It didn't matter, because there was lots of food, laughter and *maybe* a bit of friendly competition that a bit of rain couldn't dampen.

Crosby Days at Stricker's Grove fell on May 17th and kicked off their 2026 season. We had a prime spot for our games and Bible trivia, and there were winners all around! Troop 293 worked the grills and fed lots of hungry festival-goers delicious burgers. We have fun wherever we go, so we rode a few rides and enjoyed the park. We are blessed to have such a great place, so close to home!
