Mission To Myanmar By God’s Grace we are helping the people of Myanmar as they plant the cross in their war torn home

Mission to Myanmar was born after Pastor Mark Robinette, visited Myanmar for the first time in 2013 and discovered an amazing, fruitful Christian network in an almost entirely Buddhist country. Myanmar—formerly known as Burma, located in Southeast Asia, between Thailand and India—had been virtually closed to the outside world for decades, much like North Korea. The door to Myanmar closed again in

February of 2021 after a military coup, but not before deep connections were made between the church in Myanmar and the church in the United States. A group of very persecuted Christians of sixteen churches spread around Myanmar, had a Bible school, two orphanages, and an active evangelistic and humanitarian outreach. The Mission to Myanmar team that was formed saw how much this beleaguered and battered group of believers was able to do with next to no resources and thought that if they were able to raise resources for them, they could do so much more. Since 2013 Mission to Myanmar, has helped the Myanmar people build several churches, a three-story ministry center in Yangon, two permanent orphanage buildings while also equipping them with numerous motorcycles and one four-wheel-drive truck. Mission to Myanmar has been privileged to take part in medical and humanitarian aid missions after two natural disasters as well as bring medical teams for mobile clinics across Myanmar. In January of 2021, we helped them publish a first-ever New Testament in the Kaang Chin language and have committed to support them as they complete and publish the Old Testament as well. Our aim is to help those already engaged in fruitful ministry to do more of what they’re already doing. Now that the country is closed again and travel is restricted, our mission continues from afar, and we have made connections with refugees who have come to the United States for asylum. Our relationships with the Myanmar people here in the USA were made possible by our work in Myanmar but now have taken on a life of their own. We are publishing out-of-print books to help them reclaim their Christian history which began with American missionaries and build a museum in Iowa focusing on this subject.

Continued prayer needed.

The flooding at our ministry complex continues to affect our community.

We are believing God has a plan in this circumstance.

As Pastor Naing said:
“I tried my best as much as I can, but God knows better way than me… giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
— Ephesians 5:20

Please continue praying for protection, wisdom, and for the waters to recede. Above all, we are trusting God, knowing His way is better than ours.

Continuing the Work at the Ministry Complex

The rain continues to fall across Myanmar, and we are continuing to do what we can with what we have to prepare and protect the ministry complex.

The team continued working on the drainage system around the property, helping direct the water away from the complex and reduce the risk of flooding. This may seem like a small project, but these practical improvements help protect the children’s home and the many people who call the ministry complex home.

We are so grateful for everyone who continues to stand with Mission to Myanmar. Your generosity helps make projects like this possible and allows us to care for and protect the people God has entrusted to us.

An Update From the Ministry Complex

The heavy rains continue day after day in Myanmar. With more water collecting around the ministry complex, Pastor Naing and the team are continuing to work on the road and drainage to help manage the water and protect the property.

They have been installing concrete pipes where the drains cross the road and using bricks to strengthen the road and help direct the water away from the complex.

Pastor Naing shared:

“I am doing my best with what we have. I want to do more to protect the complex and the road from the water. We will continue working and praying, trusting God to provide what we need.”

A friend has generously donated the concrete pipes and some of the bricks, but additional materials, labor, and food for the workers are still needed.

They hoped to finish the work today, but with only a few laborers available, they were unable to complete everything. They will continue working as they are able.

We are grateful for everyone who continues to pray for and support Mission to Myanmar. Your generosity makes it possible for our team to prepare, respond, and care for the children and community God has entrusted to us.

As rainy season continues in Myanmar, the rain has been relentless. Along with the normal rains of this season, we have also seen massive flooding across the country.

Here at our ministry complex, we are doing everything we can to prevent flooding on the property. Within these walls is our children’s home, along with many others from our community who live here.

Yesterday, we brought in a truckload of bricks to begin repairing the road around the complex. We are also working to redirect the water that is already making its way toward the property. With the rain continuing and more rain on the way, we need another truckload of bricks to continue strengthening the road and maintaining access to the complex.

We are doing everything we can with what we have to prepare, protect and provide a safe place for the children and our community.

Our hearts are continually overflowing with gratitude for each and every one of our supporters.

For those who have faithfully prayed, interceded, given, encouraged, and stood with us through the years—thank you. Your years of consistency and faithfulness have made an incredible difference in the lives of our brothers and sisters in Myanmar.

Because of your prayers and generosity, we’ve been able to provide medical care, respond to disasters, care for children in our orphanages, provide education, support Bible translation, feed families, care for displaced people, establish and encourage churches, and so much more.

These aren’t just projects. They represent lives touched, families cared for, children given hope, and communities strengthened.

Our relief team hit the ground running last night in Laymyethna Township in the Ayeyarwady Region of central Myanmar, taking a boat into heavily affected areas to reach families displaced by the devastating flooding.

The team was able to bring food, clothing, and essential supplies to families who have lost their homes, loved ones, and livelihoods. The need is overwhelming, and the number of people needing help far exceeds the supplies we currently have available.

Pastor Naing also had the opportunity to share the Gospel and bring much-needed encouragement and hope to those facing tremendous loss.

We are now working to purchase more rice and other essential supplies so we can continue reaching more families in the affected areas.

Please join us in prayer for the families affected, for our relief team as they serve, and for the resources needed to reach more people.

The last couple of days have been full as Pastor Naing and our relief team have worked tirelessly to communicate with authorities, receive approval, and prepare water and other essential supplies. Soon, they will also begin preparing rice and additional food to take into highly affected areas suffering from the mass flooding.

But we can’t do this without you.

By God’s grace, we have the opportunity to go into some of these highly affected areas and bring practical help to people who are hurting. We do not take that privilege—or the protection required to do it—lightly.

Pastor Naing has felt very strongly that the Lord is leading him to take our relief team into these flooded areas to serve people who are facing unimaginable circumstances. We want to bring nourishment for their bodies, but also hope for their souls.

Our team will bring food and clean water, but they will also pray with people, encourage them, share the Gospel, and remind them that they have not been forgotten.

But we can reach more people if we have more supplies.

That’s where you come in.
