Who's getting excited for our Leil Shavuot, all night of learning?! Come for what you can, leave when you must. It all begins tomorrow at 6pm! Comment below if you're going to stop on by!

Today, we are also highlighting one of the teachers, Susan Leviton.
From 10:15 -11:15pm Susan will be teaching a class called, A SHPATZIR - A stroll around the Jewish world in mostly Yiddish Songs. Below, she'd like to share a song that she plans on introducing tomorrow night. Here's what she has to say about it.

“A song that has been claimed by Croatian, Macedonian, Greek, Northern African Arab, French, Greek, and other peoples was recorded in 1924 by the great clarinetist Naftole Brandwein under a name he chose for it. Give a listen to the ‘Jewishness’ of his version of “Der Terk in America” and be prepared for plenty of musical surprises on Shavuot! I can’t wait for you to join me on this magic carpet ride!” -Susan

Yesterday, we received the sad news of an attack on another sacred space. No faith teaches that violence is the right way to act. We must work together to create safe spaces where we can understand one another. It is our collective responsibility to do better.

We can start to combat hate by listening to one another. Join Rabbi Jasper this Thursday evening at 7:30 PM for an interfaith conversation at Temple Ohev Sholom with Saima Mumtaz from the Women's Auxiliary of the Hadee Mosque and Reverend Kelly Wiant. We will discuss stereotypes and misconceptions that exist within our communities.

In this moment of pain, let us use this time together to learn more about each other and support a path towards peace.

We hope you will join us for this important conversation.
