y it has been our mission to provide a spiritual home for members of all ages and a living house of G-d in which Jews can feel, study and celebrate the presence of G-d in our lives as individuals and as an eternal people. A Brief History of Beth El

Beth El Temple was founded in Harrisburg in 1926. It combines traditional Jewish observances with the modern spiritual needs of a rapidly changing world. From modest beginnings, Beth El has grown to become the largest synagogue in Harrisburg and in Central Pennsylvania. Beth El, a traditional, egalitarian, and fully participatory congregation, is affiliated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. Over 80 years have passed and we at Beth El Temple continue to share a sense of community in which our members have the opportunity to thrive and grow within Jewish traditions and Jewish knowledge along with an enveloping sense of belonging to a vibrant Jewish synagogue family.

Today is Pesach Sheni- a time for second chances courtesy of the Torah! Itโ€™s the day when those who were unable to keep Passover the first time around, get another go at it. The Torahโ€™ s way of blessing good intentions and blessing us- even when things donโ€™t go bonding to plan or fall into place on perfect time, itโ€™s never too late. May we each and all find such spaciousness and hope this Shabbat and always. As always, check our website or reach out for goings on in and around Beth El HBG. Hope to see you soon. Shabbat Shalom!

Hereโ€™s to more Pesach vibes and a meaningful, joyful and peaceful remainder of the week for all. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ Rabbi C. and Jewish Outreach Coordinator Meg S (along with a young helper) had a wonderful time visiting some of our elder members and their neighbors in a local assisted living community as Passover began. All were invited as Rabbi shared about the story and symbols of the season. And of course, the youngest one had a few questions to sing before our hosts shared some tasty haroset over matzoh with us! ๐ŸŽ
