Beth El Temple was founded in Harrisburg in 1926. It combines traditional Jewish observances with the modern spiritual needs of a rapidly changing world. From modest beginnings, Beth El has grown to become the largest synagogue in Harrisburg and in Central Pennsylvania. Beth El, a traditional, egalitarian, and fully participatory congregation, is affiliated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. Over 80 years have passed and we at Beth El Temple continue to share a sense of community in which our members have the opportunity to thrive and grow within Jewish traditions and Jewish knowledge along with an enveloping sense of belonging to a vibrant Jewish synagogue family.

🏫 💙 📚 🍎 School starts soon! And Beth El Temple is so happy to open our doors to Silver Academy students, faculty and staff as they learn and grow together! And so may it be a year of growth and renewal for our whole Harrisburg Jewish community. Welcome home, The Silver Academy

A new home. A new Early Childhood Program. An exciting new chapter for The Silver Academy.

This fall, Silver will open its doors at Beth El Temple, where we are building a warm, vibrant home for meaningful learning, strong relationships, and joyful Jewish life.

We are also proud to launch our new full-day Early Childhood Program for children ages 3 and 4.

After more than 80 years of serving Central Pennsylvania, we are moving forward with renewed energy, growing partnerships, and tremendous excitement for what comes next.

Coral picked the first harvest of tomatoes 🍅 from our Beth El kitchen garden this morning…can’t wait to see what good things she and her crew of volunteers whip up for Kiddush this Shabbat! Oh and tonight, we look forward to celebrating Pride with our Ohev friends 🌈! On Shabbat morning we are back in our beautiful sanctuary.
