What do you do when you are trying to trust God, but He feels far away?
This Sunday we continue our series, Summer in the Psalms: Finding God in Every Season, with Psalm 13. David does not hide his pain from God. He brings it honestly to God. He asks, “How long, O Lord?” and still chooses to trust in God’s lovingkindness before the answer is visible.

Jesus does not call us to shallow niceness. He calls us to Spirit-grown kindness and goodness that move toward pain with truth, courage, and love.

In the story of the Good Samaritan, Jesus shows us that seeing someone’s pain is not the same as moving toward it. Real mercy crosses the road. Real kindness costs something. But before Jesus ever tells us to cross the road, He crossed the greater road for us.
