Yesterday we launched our new series, In the Beginning, and spent time exploring God’s amazing creation!

Our older kids are also learning about different ways we can worship God. Just as God is our Creator and has given us the gift of creativity, we can use our gifts to worship Him through art, writing, and service.

This week, Miss Maria taught our kids how writing can be an act of worship. The kids spent time creating poems and reflections about what peace means to them, and it was so special to hear them share their thoughts and creativity.

We’re excited for all that’s still to come in this series and can’t wait to see how God continues to inspire and grow our kids through it!

✨ Tomorrow kicks off our "In the Beginning" series! ✨

This month, we're adding a special element for our K–5 kids as they explore different ways we can worship God through creative writing, art, and service.

We're excited to welcome special guest teacher Maria James-Thiaw, a published poet, author, and spoken-word artist whose work includes Windows to the Soul, Rising Waters, Talking "White", and Count Each Breath. Through her writing, Maria uses creativity and storytelling to inspire, encourage, and explore themes of faith, community, and justice.

Maria has also faithfully served with Journey Kids for years, and we're excited for her to help our kids discover how writing can be a meaningful way to worship God and express what He is doing in their hearts.

Take a moment to pause and get a closer look at the amazing world around us, trees, oceans, animals, and even you! What’s even more amazing is that it was all created by God, for God.

From the very beginning, God created everything with care and purpose, showing incredible love for all of creation-especially us. As we explore this series together, kids will discover how we can respond to God’s love through creativity, kindness, serving others, and caring for the world He has given us.

This month, we’re diving into ways we can worship God through art, writing, and service! As we learn about creation and the world around us, we’ll also have some special guest teachers joining us to help facilitate these experiences with our kids.

In this 4-week series, kids will learn:

God made the world and everything in it
We are made in God’s image
God made a plan to save us
God helps us make good choices

And it’s 5th family Sunday!

On our 5th Sundays, our K-5th graders join their families in the main service for worship. To help them engage, we’ll have special Kid Bags available for kids in the back of the sanctuary.

Starters will remain open for both services for our youngest attendees. We can’t wait to worship together as one big family!

🎉 Great news, Journey Church! The Journey's 29th Street campus is fully repaired, and we once again have operational bathrooms and plumbing!

We invite you to a special worship celebration THIS SUNDAY, May 31, at 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM as we gather back together in our church building (750 S. 29th Street). As part of the celebration and in recognition of AAPI Heritage Month, we'll enjoy delicious Nepali cuisine together after worship.

Also tomorrow is 5th Sunday, which means it’s FAMILY Sunday! On our 5th Sundays, our K-5th graders join their families in the main service for worship. Starters will remain open for both services.

🎨 Calling all artists!

Hey parents — I know you might have a drawing or two hanging around your home 👀 Miss Kyra is collecting some of your kids’ original creations to use as decorations at church for an upcoming theme!

If there’s any artwork you don’t mind releasing on 5/31 bring to church that day we would absolutely love to use it. 💛

We will send out another reminder closer to that Sunday!

Presenting some moments of joy with our Journey Kids! Even with changing locations, we’ve still had the same incredible teachers and joyful kiddos that make it feel just the same. ☀️

This past week was full of park play days, learning about how Jesus hears us when we pray, and this past Sunday learning about Peter “Parker,” as one of our kids said 😂

Days like these are better together. Grateful for our Journey families and all the joy, laughter, and love each week brings.

Join Us for our next Family Play Day- tomorrow!!

We’re excited to invite you to our next Family Play Day at George Park (Nyes Rd & Heatherfield Way, Paxtonia, PA 17112) on May 16th from 3-5 PM! Join Miss Gina one of our kids teachers & JoJo there!

Family Play Days are a relaxed, casual way for families to connect while kids play and make new friends. This group is open to families with children of all ages, from newborns through youth group.
