WORLD OF ENVY, JEALOUSY & COMPARISON
Elkanah said to Hannah, why weepest thou? And why eatest thou not? And why is thy head grieved? I’m I not better to thee than ten sons? 1st Samuel 1:8

In a similar scenario, the mother of Zebedee’s requested for a privilege for her two sons to sit on the right and left of Jesus in the kingdom. Matthew 20:21
And other ten disciples were moved with indignation against the two brethren. Matthew 20:24

We live in the world where we can’t actually define success unless it is measured with other people’s achievements. We compare the breakthroughs and the exploits of others with ours. Consequently, we either see ourselves on top or under.
African proverb says “A man who doesn’t know where the rain started beating him will not know where his clothes will dry up”
Take heed and beware of covetousness for a man consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesses.
Luke 12:15

In other words, when people stays too long in abject poverty, they’ll begin to be compliant with the situation. That’s what brought about the slogan “I BETTER PASS MY NEIGHBOR”
Worshippers compare churches, pastors compare their spirituality with others. We compare our billionaires to determine the richest among them. We compare phones, cars, houses, spouses, children, countries and tribes. We even say disparagingly…WHO ARE YOU? DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?
Remember, anytime you find yourself proofing your worth, it means you have lost your value.

NOTE:
Without value, struggle becomes NOISE
Without value, beauty becomes NOTHING
And after struggling to achieve your goals, you will still die to leave those goals behind.

PRAYER:
Father, accept me into your kingdom and don’t let my worship be in vain.
AMEN

EVEN, JESUS WAS AN IMMIGRANT
This title may sound offensive and blasphemous about the holy one. In other religion, the topic might be SATANIC which may attract being stoned to death. However, it may be so intriguing to you that everybody on the planet earth are immigrants.

By definition, a migrant is a person who moves away from his usual place. From New York to Chicago or from Lagos to Port Harcourt. Perhaps for business or job placement. While Immigrant is someone who moves to live permanently in another country.

*Joseph was instructed in his dream to take the young child (Jesus) and her mother to Egypt to escape from Herod who wanted to destroy him. Matthew 2:13 Therefore, Jesus and his parents were also immigrants and asylum seekers in Egypt.
*Abraham left his country to another land which God showed him. Genesis 12:1
*Suffice to say that all Israelites were immigrants in Egypt and they were settled in Goshen. Genesis 47:27
*Naomi, her husband and two sons emigrated from Bethlehem to Moab. Ruth 1:6-21

Migrants, Immigrants and asylum seekers are being ridiculed and chased around in the world today. In South Africa, they are being killed. In the Middle East, if you don’t belong to their religious sect, you will be discriminated against. The Western world are really accommodating and welcoming. But because of the continuous influx of migrants in millions, they are now tired of them and they are being shown the way back to their home countries.

In the sum total, no matter how long you live here, you should remember that you’re a sojourner and an immigrant who could be called back home when your time expires.

NOTE:
Life is funny, you came with Nothing
You struggle for Everything and eventually, you go back to your maker with Nothing.

PRAYER:
Father, let your presence follow me in my journey of life. Amen!

BEING STRANDED
IN THE JOURNEY
OF LIFE
Some years back, I set out from Pennsylvania state to NewJersey to visit a friend. In those days, there was no GPS, we used Map Quest for navigations. Unfortunately, the map quest couldn’t take me directly to my destination.

So I got to a Gas Station to ask for directions. The people I met misled me the more despite that they brought out a Bigger Map of New Jersey. After driving around the city for hours, my friend eventually picked my call and told me his house was directly behind the Gas Station
This is why we must be very careful in stopping by to ask for directions from someone who will misdirect us in our journey of life.
Because if you fall behind, the world will move on without waiting for you.

Just imagine what Hagar would have gone through when she was stranded in the desert with her son (Ishmael)when Abraham and Sarah pushed her out before God’s divine intervention. Genesis 21:14-19
Similarly, Naomi was stranded while her husband and her two sons died in their sojourn in Moab and she returned to her home country (Bethlehem) with empty hands. Ruth 1:6-21

In directionless situations, the Israelites wandered for forty years in the wilderness before getting to the promised land. Numbers 14:26
When King Saul lost directions because of stubbornness and spiritual bankruptcy. He got stranded and consulted the witch at Endor so he could ask for directions from the deceased prophet Samuel. 1st Samuel 28:3-25

You can’t continuously hold the reverse gear and expect to get to your destination. If you’re stranded in the journey of life, go back to your maker. He will redirect you.
Remember, you were born to succeed or to be more successful than your parents but at the end, you may die looking like your stupid decisions.

NOTE:
You may be consistent for several years but to be connected is just for few days.
And for Grace to speak is just for few seconds.
Therefore, hard work is not enough anymore, just pray for Grace.

PRAYER:
Lord, in the journey of life, I shall not be stranded.
AMEN!

SUICIDAL IDEATIONS
Since the ages past and even now, many people had attempted committing su***de for one reason or the other. Anyway, su***de is an attempt to harm oneself with an intent to end one’s life, most especially when one is having a feeling of guilt, shame or being a burden to others.

When Ahitophel discovered that his advice against David had not been followed due to Hushai’s influence and knowing that the revolt would fail, he returned to his home town of Glion and hanged himself. 2nd Samuel 17:23.

Saul the king of Israel asked his armor bearer to kill him but he refused, so Saul fell on his own sword and when the armor bearer saw that Saul died, he also fell on his own sword and died. 1st Samuel 31:4-5 In a similar scenario, Judas who betrayed Jesus saw that Jesus was condemned, he was seized with remorse, returned the money he collected, saying “I HAVE SINNED” and went ahead to hang himself. Matthew 27:3-5

Asides these biblical examples, incessant health issues, bipolar, depression, psychosis, schizophrenia or summarily, mental illness may cause someone to feel suicidal.

In addition, we should realize that mental problems and hallucinations feed on the attention you give to them. The more you pay attention to them, the stronger they become.
If you ignore them, they lose their control and finally vanish.

On the other hands, loss of job, collapse of one’s business, bankruptcy, victimization and inability to stand up to one’s responsibilities in the family may bring about low esteem, and one may have suicidal ideations.

Remember that your life doesn’t belong to you, it is sacred and precious and freely given to you by your maker. If you take it, you will end up in eternal perdition.

NOTE:
A situation like this may arise in our lives, don’t ever try to work out problems by yourself, pray, read the words of God, talk to trusted friends and relatives, relax, go for walk, laugh, breath deeply, think positively and profoundly and invite God into your situation.

PRAYER:
*Lord, don’t let me end my life in shame.
*Father, do not allow the circumstances of life defeat me.

THE PILLARS OF LIFE
Pillars are fundamental in every structure. It supports a roof, balcony and the entire building. It makes bridges stand firm to be able to bear the burdens of heavily loaded trucks and trains.

And Samson took hold of the middle pillars upon which the house stood. One with his right hand and the other with his left. Judges 16:29
And he said “Let me die with the Philistines” And bowed himself with all his might and the house fell upon all the people that were there-in. Judges 16:30

The tragedy of 9/11 in NEWYORK where the twin towers were brought down by terrorists is still fresh in our memory. The two tallest buildings crumbled into GROUND ZERO

Just imagine a house that’s resting on four pillars and one of the pillars is removed or crumbles, the structure of the building will entirely be affected.
That’s what happens when one loses a father, mother, wife, friend or when you lose an opportunity that could catapult you into prominence.
Although, removing one brick from an entire building may not make the house to disappear but every brick around that vacuum will carry more burden than necessary.

That’s what happens when you lose a helper or when your support system crumbles. You need to begin all over again. It’s like learning how to walk after a fall.

NOTE:
Build yourself with your own materials so that when someone leaves you, you won’t collapse. Because people come and go.
Learn to survive alone.

PRAYERS:
*Lord, don’t let the pillars of my life crumble.
*Father, Don’t let me perish with my enemies.
