Today’s Treasured Pearls from The Heart
Weapons
Someone had gifted my husband a figurine of a soldier dressed in the full armor of God. I took notice of each piece of his armor. In Ephesians 6:11 KJV we are instructed to “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” The weapons that God has given to us are not the weapons of this world. II Corinthians 10:4 reveals to us a confident nugget of truth that being; “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.” We are assured God is fighting for us.
We gain strength from David’s words in I Samuel 17:47 “And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the Lord's, and he will give you into our hands.” Going back to Ephesians 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
Let me share with you three weapons you can use to pull down strongholds
Praise is a weapon. 2 Chronicles 20:21 “And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth forever.” When the enemy came up against King Jehoshaphat he appointed singers that when they began to sing and praise the Lord, he set an ambush and the enemy was smitten. Who set the ambush, the Lord set the ambush? You do not need to fight in this battle. Remember the victory was in the praise.
Faith is one of the most powerful weapons you can use. Stay anchored in what you believe. Hebrews 10:23 “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; for he is faithful that promised.” Trust God even when you do not have a clue what to do next. That alone can get you through anything.
Decree, this is something I do every day. I have a list of decrees I say over my life each morning. Job 22:28 “Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.” We as believers have been given authority over the enemy by God’s Word. Find some scriptures from the word and begin to speak them over your life. Write them down. Here are a few of daily decrees I say.
•I will prosper and be in health as my soul prospers (3 John 1:2)
•Lord, give me that which is good, and let me increase (Psalm 85:12)
•Let the gift You have given me bring prosperity (Proverbs 17:8)
•Let me find favor like Esther (Esther 2:17)
Now you begin to make a list of your decrees over your life. One of my pastors saying is “Speak the Word only.”
