Harrington Baptist Church

Harrington Baptist Church A growing community of believers in Jesus Christ growing in faith through hearing and studying God's Word. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction.

We seek to apply what we have learned by loving one another, and proclaiming to the World that the Kingdom of God is at hand. We believe that the Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God’s revelation of Himself to man. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy

. It reveals the principles by which God judges us, and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.

⚓ The Hope & the Resurrection of the Dead | Acts 22:23–23:10

When life gets stormy — persecution, suffering, uncertainty — what keeps you from drifting? In this message from Acts, Pastor John walks us through one of the most powerful truths in all of Scripture: the Hope of the Resurrection is not a vague wish. It is a sure and steadfast anchor for your soul.

We explore what the Bible really means by "hope" — not the casual, fingers-crossed kind, but a confident, joyful, eager expectation rooted in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ. And we'll see how that hope gave Paul the clarity and courage to stand firm in the face of beatings, false charges, and a hostile mob.

📖 Scriptures covered: Acts 22:23–23:10 | Romans 5:1–5 | Hebrews 6:18–20

In this message:
→ Why the resurrection is the root of all resistance to the Gospel
→ What Christian hope actually means (and why it's nothing like the way we use the word every day)
→ How suffering is God's way of showing you just how secure your anchor really is
→ What it looks like to "grab hold of the chain" in your darkest moments

Is the gospel really for everyone—even those we least expect?

In Acts 22, Paul shares his powerful testimony before a hostile crowd, recounting his dramatic encounter with Jesus and the calling placed on his life. Once a persecutor of the church, Paul becomes a living example of God’s transforming grace—proof that no one is beyond the reach of the gospel.

This sermon, “Gospel Message for All,” challenges us to see the heart of God for every person. The message of salvation is not limited by background, status, or past sin—it is extended to all who will hear and believe.

Yet Paul’s testimony also reveals a hard truth: not everyone will receive the message with open hearts. The same gospel that brings life can also provoke resistance.

Join us as we explore the power of a personal testimony, the inclusiveness of the gospel, and our calling to boldly share the good news with all people.

💬 Be encouraged. Be bold. Share the gospel.

What are you holding onto that God is asking you to surrender?

In Acts 21, Paul arrives in Jerusalem with open hands—ready to give, ready to serve, and ultimately ready to suffer for the name of Christ. Despite misunderstanding, false accusations, and rising opposition, Paul demonstrates a powerful picture of humility, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion.

This sermon, “Open Hands & Arms for the Sake of Christ,” invites us to examine our own posture before the Lord. Are we clinging tightly to our rights, our comfort, and our reputation? Or are we willing to live open-handed—embracing whatever God allows for the sake of His mission?

Even in the face of hostility, Paul responds with grace and courage, reminding us that a surrendered life is a powerful testimony to the world.

Join us as we learn what it means to live with open hands, ready to give, and open arms, ready to love—all for the glory of Christ
