It is with sorrow for those left behind and with glorious praise to God for taking home Pastor Jim. He and New Life have been a huge blessing and inspiration to us here at BBC. Pastor Jim Goforth quietly supported BBC by allowing and encouraging men of New Life to spread their wing in ministry by bring use messages on many Sundays during our search for the right pastor. It had become clear that he had and continues to have a great impact on men and their roles in Gods church and their homes. It is so important to realize that although he is being mourned here he is stilling in the glory we can only imagine.

As we approach this sacred weekend, I want to take a moment to encourage your hearts. Although we will not be gathering for a Good Friday or Sunrise service this year, I invite each of you to pause this evening and reflect on the weight and wonder of what happened on this day all those years ago.

Good Friday confronts us with the injustice Jesus endured—the false accusations, the unlawful trial, the cruel flogging, and ultimately the crucifixion itself. None of it was fair. All of it was necessary. Without the suffering of Friday, there would be no victory on Sunday. Without the cross, there would be no empty tomb. Without His sacrifice, there would be no blessed hope for us.

Please take time to remember the cost of our salvation. Let the reality of Christ’s suffering prepare your heart for the joy of Resurrection Sunday. And when we gather on Easter morning, may we do so with a deeper gratitude, a clearer understanding, and a renewed awe for the Savior who died and rose again.

“He was wounded for our transgressions… and by His stripes we are healed.”
“He is not here; He is risen.”

Looking forward to celebrating our risen Lord together this Sunday.

Update: We had a packed house. It was far from perfect but given the fact we pulled this off in just 4 days time it was actually pretty successful. It was heartbreaking to have to have an event like this but it was equally heartwarming to be able to come together and mourn, comfort and support each other.
A huge thank you to Allen and Becky Sullivan, Patricia Rucker, Bill Ridnour, Jefferson Co. Sheriff Dept, Ryan Parsons and Jamie Johnson for helping provide this time to fellowship together.

There will be a memorial service honoring Charlie Kirk this Thursday evening at 6:30 hosted by Patricia Puertas-Rucker and Becky Sullivan.

This will also be an opportunity to begin conversations about fostering local engagement in Christian conservative values — raising up young leaders who will think critically, act courageously, and serve their communities with humility and grace.

What a morning at Bakerton!
We wrapped up Kids Camp 2025 with a special Family Day service—our campers sang, we shared a few highlights from the week, and RJ brought the Word of God with boldness and heart. The message tied it all together beautifully: our God is worthy to be magnified!

We didn’t get any photos of the fellowship lunch afterward… because we were too busy actually fellowshipping! Kids running wild, people laughing and lingering, conversations that reminded us why church family matters.

Thank you to everyone who poured into this week. Today was the overflow of all that love and effort—our church was full of life, joy, and the Spirit.

That’s a wrap on Kids Camp 2025 – Magnified! 🌟
Today was bursting with joy and purpose as we wrapped up an incredible week together! From water gun battles with Mr. Rj Harrell 💦 to learning about global missions with Ms. Heidi Jessurun & Mr. Tom Jessurun with SIM 🇳🇬—who served in Nigeria and even taught us a few new words in another language!—God’s greatness was magnified in every moment.

We sang, danced, prayed, laughed, and played—all while seeing just how BIG and WONDERFUL our God really is. ✨ Chapel time, music, crafts, games, and water fun reminded us that when we focus on Jesus, everything else comes into clearer view.

Thank you to every volunteer, parent, and camper who made this week unforgettable. We can’t wait to do it again next year!
