There are many ways to honor our veterans this Memorial Day. Here is a schedule of events throughout the county, including a service here in Harper at the Community Cemetery Monday afternoon. It will include the playing of TAPS by Robert Collier.

Thanks to all who came out to St Anthony Cemetery this morning! If you have a chance, stop by and pay your respects to a veteran. Their graves, at both Harper cemeteries, are marked with a US flag.
Monday, there will be a short service at the Harper Community Cemetery at 1500 hours (3:00 pm). Robert Collier has volunteered to play TAPS.

Will be distributing flags at the cemetery at 9 am Friday.
There are plenty of volunteers, but all are welcome to join or come watch to honor our veterans at rest here. 🇺🇸

Memorial Day is approaching, a day set aside to recognize and honor the deceased veterans of the military who served their country. The Harper American Legion Post 650 does so by placing flags on the graves in our two Harper cemeteries. The Harper branch of Catholic Life Insurance assists with this at St Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, honoring the 62 veterans at rest here.
We have volunteers ready to serve again, and it is usually done in less than 30 minutes. If you would like to join us this year, please call or text Mark Schumpelt at 830-342-1234. The flags will be placed on Thursday or Friday, May 21 or 22, then will be picked up the Tuesday or Wednesday after Memorial Day,

The First Baptist Church of Harper is hosting a "Church Community Garage Sale" on Saturday,
May 16, 2026, at the Baptist Church from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
