What is the "Secret Law" governing your soul? According to A.W. Tozer, your life is shaped by what comes into your mind when you think about God.

It sounds like a bold claim, but think about it: your mental image of God is the "gravity" of your life. By a secret law of the soul, you will always gravitate toward that image.

If you view God as a harsh taskmaster, you will live in constant burnout. If you view Him as indifferent, you will live in isolation. Every relationship, every decision, and every fear is rooted in this one perception.

Because we are fallen people, we all carry a distorted picture of God. Our past has influenced our view of Him, our parents, our pain, or our culture.

The most important work you can do today is auditing your mental image of God.

Most of us think spiritual warfare is something dramatic. But in Ephesians, Paul spends chapters talking about identity, purity, marriage, parenting, work, and integrity before he ever mentions armor.

Why?

Because the real battlefield is ordinary life.

When you tell the truth instead of shading it, that’s spiritual warfare.
When you forgive instead of nursing resentment, that’s spiritual warfare.
When you love your spouse on a hard day, when you respond to unfair treatment at work with steady integrity, when you choose humility over pride—that’s where the battle is won or lost.

The enemy’s primary strategy isn’t spectacle. It’s deception. Discouragement. Division. If he can get you to react in the flesh instead of live out who you are in Christ, he gains ground.

But when Christians live like Christians, something powerful happens.

Light pushes back darkness.

God’s dream for your life is not that you become dramatic. It’s that you become like His Son. And most spiritual warfare never goes beyond the daily decision to live out your position in Christ by faith.

Obedience may look small.

But in the unseen realm, it is not.
