Today was youth led worship at Calvary Baptist Church (Harlingen, TX). We baptized a Dad, his son and two other teens. We celebrated the Lord’s Supper. The message was “Keeping Faithful In A Pagan World” from Genesis 45:1-8. I hope you are blessed.

Hurricane Milton. Today it is a Category 5 bearing down on the Gulf coast of Florida, projected to cross the state and wreak more disaster on the Atlantic side. In my prayer this morning, I remembered the following Scripture. Jesus is Lord of the wind and sea. I am asking Jesus to calm Hurricane Milton. Will you join me? Please share.

“One day Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.” So they got into a boat and started out. As they sailed across, Jesus settled down for a nap. But soon a fierce storm came down on the lake. The boat was filling with water, and they were in real danger. The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!” When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and the raging waves. Suddenly the storm stopped and all was calm. Then he asked them, “Where is your faith?” The disciples were terrified and amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “When he gives a command, even the wind and waves obey him!””

Cheryl and I watched this movie free on Amazon Prime. I recommend it. Polycarp was burned at the stake in 156 A.D.for his refusal to deny Jesus is Lord and embrace Caesar as Lord. What would you do?
