Good morning, faithful friends! 🫂

Mid-month mindset… are you like me?

Do you go into a new month with high hopes, ideas, and goals? Then suddenly find yourself at the halfway mark wondering where all those days went? Did you meet the goals you set? Did you accomplish as much as you thought you would?

Our spiritual walk can be like that, too.

We set goals. We think about reading our Bible more, praying more often, serving others, and doing the Lord’s work and so on…

Yet somehow time slips by. We lose sight of the things that matter most. We fill our days with endless scrolling, television, busy schedules, and distractions.

Now, I’m not saying we aren’t meant to rest and relax—we absolutely are. But how many of our minutes are simply wasted? And how many more are spent regretting the things we didn’t accomplish?

The Lord gives us a precious gift: time.

How we spend it is up to us.

As we reach the middle of this month, perhaps it’s a good opportunity to pause, refocus, and ask ourselves: Am I spending my time on the things that bring me closer to God, or am I letting the days slip by unnoticed?

The good news is that if we’ve wandered off course, today is a perfect day to begin again. You don’t have to start at the beginning of a week, month or year to reset…. Right now works just as well!

How do you want to fill the time God has given you?

⛪️Harmony United Methodist Church is here for you. Our worship services begin at 9:30a.m on Sunday with refreshments to follow. We would love to have you join us….. all are welcome!

Have a wonderful week, take care and be well! 🫂💗🙏✝️🫶🏻

Good morning, Faithful Friends! ✝️

In addition to helping with our social media, I also have the privilege of putting together Harmony’s newsletter. I vividly remember the edition where I introduced our new pastor, Pastor BB Watson. It hardly seems possible that nearly two years have passed since then.

Over these past two years, Pastor BB has faithfully led, inspired, encouraged, and challenged us to deepen our walk with Christ. Through his thoughtfully prepared sermons, his vast knowledge of Scripture, his genuine compassion, and his wonderful sense of humor, he has touched the hearts of so many within our congregation.

Although Harmony United Methodist Church was only one of three churches under his care, Pastor BB never made us feel like we were sharing our pastor. He made each congregation feel seen, valued, and loved. He was present. He attended our events, visited members who could no longer attend worship, checked in on those in need, and continually asked, “How can I help?” His ministry extended far beyond the pulpit.

Today marks Pastor BB’s final Sunday with us at Harmony. While there is certainly sadness in saying goodbye, we also trust in God’s plan and give thanks for the time we have shared. We know that Pastor BB’s ministry will continue to bless others, just as it has blessed us. Somewhere, another congregation is about to receive a shepherd whose faith, wisdom, kindness, and servant’s heart will enrich their church family in countless ways.

Pastor BB, thank you for the last two years. Thank you for your leadership, your friendship, your encouragement, your care, and your unwavering commitment to sharing God’s love. You have left a lasting impact on our church and on each of us individually.

May God continue to bless you and your family as you begin this next chapter in ministry. We send you with grateful hearts, loving prayers, and our deepest appreciation.

With love,

Your Harmony United Methodist Church Family

Good afternoon, faithful friends! 🌞

While playing with my granddaughter yesterday, she came up to me and handed me a very small piece of paper with the word “PLAN” written on it.

I chuckled.

You see, I’m one of those super planners. I make to-do lists for my to-do lists! Planning my days is what centers me. I’m not often spontaneous or spur-of-the-moment. I like rules. I like knowing ahead of time what something is going to look like and how my day is going to unfold.

Some of you may have seen the phrase:

“God is not done writing your story. Stop trying to steal the pen.”

Sometimes, even for me—a faithful follower of God—I want to steal that pen. I want to make my plans.

But I have to trust God and remember that His plan for me is far better than anything I could ever imagine for myself.

That doesn’t mean we stop making decisions, planning events, or scheduling playdates. It simply means we enter those moments asking God to take the wheel, to guide us, to lead us—and then we faithfully follow behind.

The Lord’s plan for us is so incredibly beautiful. That doesn’t mean it will be without faults, flaws, bumps, or challenges along the way. But even through those things, His plan remains beautiful.

“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”
— Proverbs 19:21

Good morning, faithful friends! 🫂☕️

The purpose of perfectionism is often to pull us outside of a realistic existence.

How often have we said aloud—or quietly within our own minds—“I just want it to be perfect”?

We’ve all heard that perfection is impossible to achieve. Yet many of us continue chasing it anyway. The trouble is that perfection is often based on opinion.

Imagine I spent hours making a cheesecake. I carefully selected every ingredient, followed every step, and created what I believed was the cheesecake of all cheesecakes. To me, it was perfect.

Then I take it to a gathering and someone says, “It’s good… but it’s not perfect… I don’t care for the thicker crust.” But to me the thicker crust is the best part.

Suddenly, what I considered perfect isn’t perfect to someone else.

That’s the problem with perfection. It constantly moves. What satisfies one person may disappoint another. What looks perfect today may seem flawed tomorrow.

And because we fear falling short, many of us stop creating altogether. We don’t write the story. We don’t bake the cake. We don’t start the project. We don’t share the idea. Fear of failure, criticism, judgment, disappointment, or heartbreak keeps us standing still.

Don’t let perfection prevent participation in the life God has given you.

But perhaps we were never meant to achieve perfection in the first place.

Perfection belongs to God alone.

Our calling isn’t to be perfect. It’s to be faithful. To use the gifts we’ve been given. To create, serve, love, learn, and grow—even when the outcome isn’t flawless.

There is great freedom in realizing that we don’t have to be perfect.

We can leave perfection to the Lord and simply focus on becoming who He created us to be.

And perhaps that’s the most beautiful part of the journey.

 Have a wonderful day! ✝️🕊️🫂💗🙏🫶🏻

⛪️ Please remember that Harmony United Methodist Church is full of imperfect people who simply want to gather and enjoy being in the presence of the Lord.

We’re not asking you to come as a perfect person—because none of us are.

Come as you are, just as God created you.

Join us Sunday morning at 9:30 for worship, fellowship, and God’s Word.

Refreshments and conversation follow the service, and we’d love to welcome you. 🙂

Good day, Faithful Friends🪿

Yesterday on my way home, I passed this small homestead where several geese, ducks, and chickens roam freely. I see them often in my daily commute. Across the road runs a creek, and another lies just down a nearby side road. If you happen to drive through around 4:00 in the afternoon, you’ll often find the flock making their way home from the day’s adventures.

Yesterday, however, I noticed something I hadn’t before. One of the larger geese has an injured foot with a significant limp. The geese are usually quite vocal as they make their way along—I suspect they believe they own the road, the water, and everything in between!

But what caught my attention was how two other geese stayed close beside their limpy-gimpy friend. They flanked the weaker one, patiently matching his pace and guiding him home safely. They never rushed ahead. They never left him behind to fend for himself. They simply stayed at his side, offering protection and companionship on the journey home! I’m willing to bet they do this for him always!

It made me think about God’s presence in our own lives.

There are seasons when we, too, walk with a limp—burdened by worry, grief, uncertainty, illness, or simply the weight of life itself. Yet God never abandons His children. He walks beside us, protecting us, guiding us, and strengthening us when our steps are a little wobbly.

He may not be as vocal as a flock of geese, but His voice can still be heard over the noise, the traffic, the bumps, and the wobbles of life.

“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
— Deuteronomy 31:8 ✝️

May you be reminded today that you never walk alone…. But also remember to flank those in your life that may need a little help from time to time!

Have a wonderful day! ✝️💗🫂🙏🕊️
