A victory – for now. Earlier this month, Bishop Thomas John Paprocki joined the Lutheran Nursing Home, and four doctors, suing Illinois to block a Sept. 12 law that would force su***de on their patients. The Court signed the order, so HSHS and OSF Healthcare are protected at their locations in the Diocese of Springfield for now. Details can be found in this Catholic Times article - go.dio.org/e7g

🍗 THE DUMPLINGS ARE CALLING! 🍗
School bells are ringing, leaves will soon be falling, and you know what that means… the St. Francis of Assisi Parish Fall Dinner in Hardin, IL, is right around the corner!

Yes, you read that right! The SFA Parish Fall Dinner will be held Sunday, October 18, at the St. Norbert School Gym in Hardin, Illinois.

If you’ve been dreaming about those homemade dumplings and dressing all year, you’re in luck! A full, homemade meal prepared by some of the best cooks in Calhoun County will be served. 🤎

Come enjoy a sit-down, all-you-can-eat meal with your family and friends, or grab a carryout to enjoy at home. And while you’re at it, don’t forget to grab an extra meal for your neighbors!

🍽️ The full meal includes:
● Crispy fried chicken
● Tender roast beef
● Homemade dumplings
● Dressing
● Mashed potatoes & gravy

Our little GriefShare group has become pretty special to us, so we’ve decided we’re not ready to give up our Mondays just yet! 🥰

We’ll continue meeting the first Monday of each month being Monday, 9/7, and we’d LOVE to have anyone walking through grief join us. No pressure, no commitment - just come whenever you can. You’re always welcome! 🤍

A little Monday reminder.. if you’ve been thinking about joining us for GriefShare, we’d truly love to have you! We meet every Monday from 6–7:30pm at St. Norbert School in Hardin and there are 7 sessions remaining.

This group has become such a blessing. It’s a place where you can come just as you are - no pressure to talk, no expectation to have it all together - just people walking through grief, encouraging one another, and finding hope one step at a time.

No matter how recent your loss is or how many years have passed, you are welcome. We hope you’ll join us!! 💜

GriefShare is a faith-based support group designed to help individuals navigate the loss of a loved one. It is for anyone grieving the death of a spouse, child, family member, or friend. This could be a recent or past loss. Our group will meet on Mondays June 8 - August 3 and feature expert video seminars, small-group discussions, and a participant workbook to guide us through the grieving process. The workbook also includes exercises to assist in personal recovery. Topics include loneliness, anger, fear, and rebuilding life after loss.

Please help spread the word! You do not need to be a member of our church to attend and you do not need to attend all meetings to participate. All are welcome and encouraged to come! 💜
