Today we pause to remember.
We remember the brave men and women who laid down their lives for our freedom.
Some left home carrying duffle bags and dreams.
Some kissed loved ones goodbye not knowing it would be the last time.
Some never made it back home.
Freedom has always cost something.
And as we honor their sacrifice, we also remember the One who stretched out His arms on a cross and gave His life so our souls could be free.

Jesus said:
“Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.”
— [John 15:13] (ESV)

Today we honor courage.
We honor sacrifice.
We honor those who served.
And we give thanks to God for the freedoms we too often take for granted.
May we live lives worthy of both sacrifices: the sacrifice made for our nation, and the sacrifice made for our salvation.

Lest we forget. 🙏
