Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love;Where there is injury, pardon;Where their is doubt, faith;Where there is despair, hope;Where their is darkness, light; And where thereis sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled,as to console; To be understood,as to understand;to be loved,as to love. For it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

The Advent Season is the beginning of the Church year. Did you know that this season focuses on the coming of Christ in history? Advent also shows us about the mystery of Incarnation. There are four weeks in Advent. The first Sunday of Advent prepares believers for Christmas. Believers will learn about the Doctrine of the Incarnation when the Second Person of the Holy Trinity unites the human nature with the divine nature. When Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary, He dwelt in our midst to accomplish the work of our redemption. Jesus Christ is referred to as the alpha and the omega meaning that Jesus Christ has been given universal dominion over all time and people. During the Second Sunday of Advent, the emphasis shifts to His coming in human flesh. The Third Sunday of Advent focuses on the Lord already present. We learn that God left the Holy Spirit with us to guide us as disciples. The Fourth Sunday of Advent draws us to Incarnation which enables us to share in the the Divine Nature. With faith, we believe that in one person of the Trinity two natures are united: God and man.

God,your ways are better than mine and I know that trusting in my own strength will get me nowhere. I place my trust in you. Even when it doesn't make sense to me,I choose to trust You,knowing You will make Your plans come to pass.

According to a legend in the fourth century AD,Mary may have spent the last years of her life in Ephesus. Since Jesus' instruction to John was to care for Mary after His death, it was stated that she was buried in Jerusalem. Based on the visions of Sister Anne Catherine Emmerich, the House of the Virgin Mary which is four miles from Selcuk has been considered to have been the last home of Mary, mother of Jesus in the Roman Catholic tradition. Being a popular place of Catholic pilgrimage, this site has been visited by three popes. This picture was taken in 1983.
