The Fourfold Gospel Chronologically Studied: A Study of the Life of Christ

This week we will be examining John 9 and the remarkable account of Jesus healing the man born blind. Beyond the miracle itself, we will explore what this event reveals about the identity of Jesus as the Son of God, the difference between spiritual blindness and spiritual sight, and the varying responses people have when confronted with the truth. This powerful chapter challenges each of us to consider whether we are truly seeing Christ for who He is.

Morning Worship – 10:25 AM
“The Great Commission and The Great Love of God”
John 3:16; Ephesians 3:18-19
(Sermon 7 of 42 in our “The Great Commission And...” Series)

Why does the Great Commission exist? Why did God send His Son into the world? This lesson will examine the greatest news story ever told, the love of God revealed in Christ, and the relationship between God's love and our responsibility to share the gospel with others. We will explore the breadth, depth, length, and height of God's love as revealed in Scripture and discover why the Great Commission is rooted in the very character of God Himself. The love of God gave us the gospel, and the Great Commission calls us to share it with the world.

Evening Worship Class – 6:00 PM
The Minor Prophets: Nahum

Our study of the Minor Prophets continues as we begin the book of Nahum. Often called the sequel to Jonah, Nahum announces God's judgment upon Nineveh and demonstrates that while God is patient and merciful, He is also holy and just. This introductory lesson will explore the historical background of the book, its major themes, and what Nahum teaches us about God's sovereignty over the nations, His justice, and the comfort He provides to His faithful people.

We’d love to have you join us for our midweek service this Wednesday at the Hannibal church of Christ!

7:00 PM – We’ll begin with a short period of devotion and singing, followed by Bible Classes for all ages.

In the auditorium class, we’re continuing an important video study series: “General Biblical Introduction: How We Got the Bible” featuring Keith Mosher Sr., long-time instructor at the Memphis School of Preaching. We are in Section II: Canonicity, focusing on how the books of the Bible were recognized and accepted as Scripture.

These lessons are designed to strengthen our confidence in the authority, canon, and reliability of God’s Word.

Come grow in your knowledge and faith as we study how God preserved His revealed will for His people.

“The Fourfold Gospel Chronologically Studied — A Study of The Life of Christ”

Our Sunday morning Bible class continues through the life and ministry of Jesus Christ as harmonized through the four Gospel accounts. This week we will be picking up in John 8:31ff as Jesus continues addressing the Jews concerning true discipleship, genuine freedom, and the spiritual condition of those who rejected Him. This rich section of Scripture confronts the difference between superficial belief and abiding faith, while emphasizing the truth that only Christ can truly set man free from the bo***ge of sin.

10:25 AM Worship Sermon
“The Great Commission and A Lost World”
(Sermon 6 of 42 in the “The Great Commission And…” series, credited to the late Gus Nichols)

The world around us is filled with confusion, sin, hopelessness, and spiritual darkness, yet Jesus Christ gave His church a mission that has never changed. In this lesson we will examine the condition of a lost world through the lens of Scripture and consider why the Great Commission remains urgent in every generation. We will study mankind’s need for the gospel, God’s desire for all men to be saved, and the responsibility of Christians to take the saving message of Christ into a world that desperately needs hope and truth.

Our evening service will be a special opportunity for Bible questions and congregational discussion. Members and guests alike are encouraged to bring Bible questions, difficult passages, or subjects they would like to study and discuss together from God’s Word. These studies are always beneficial, encouraging, and focused upon seeking biblical answers with open Bibles and honest hearts.

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. Their sacrifice reminds us of the cost of freedom and the blessing of living in a land where we may worship and serve God freely.

As we reflect on Memorial Day, may we also remember the words of our Lord:

“Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.” — John 15:13

We are thankful for those who served with courage, sacrifice, and honor. May we never forget their service, their families, and the legacy they left behind.
