May worship with Hannibal Nazarene never be about a platform, theatrics or even a song, but always about the Jehovah God we know and serve through the work of the Holy Spirit.

Worship leaders are warning that modern church services are unintentionally turning congregational worship into a spectator experience, with fewer believers actively singing during worship. Drawing comparisons to the pre-Reformation era, when worship was performed by professionals in Latin, the text argues that the Reformation restored participatory singing through accessible hymns and language. However, it claims that modern technology, projection screens, and constantly changing worship sets have shifted churches back toward performance-style services.

Factors such as unfamiliar songs, difficult arrangements, high vocal keys, and overpowering sound systems are said to discourage participation, raising concern that churches are losing the communal essence of worship singing.
