Sweet Church Family of First Christian Church Hannibal:
After much discernment, I want to share that this week I have accepted the call to serve as Pastor of Mackinaw Christian Church in Mackinaw, Illinois. My final Sunday with First Christian Church will be July 26, 2026.
Leaving is bittersweet. There is sadness in saying goodbye to a church and community that have shaped me so profoundly. I will forever be thankful for my time here, for the ways you welcomed us, loved us, encouraged us, and gave us the grace to learn, grow, and do some becoming along the way. Throughout this discernment process, God's presence has been evident in ways both quiet and clear, and so we move forward trusting that God goes ahead of us into what awaits our family across the river.
In the coming weeks, I hope to express more personally the gratitude I carry for each of you. Associate Regional Minister, Rev. David Woodard is already scheduled to be with us on July 19, and we will set aside some time that morning to share a litany together as we begin to give thanks for all that God has done in and through our time together.
Thank you for allowing me the privilege of walking alongside you through moments of joy, grief, celebration, worship, and everyday life. Serving this congregation has been one of the greatest honors of my life.
