When the sky is dark and grey it can be difficult to find joy in the day. When the sun is shining it can lift you up and help you have a better day. When God's face shines upon you it is truly uplifting. Serving Him and walking in His ways gives purpose and cause to what you do. Let Him shine upon your life. Always!

It always lifts your spirit when you sing out loud and bold. When you are reminded of the love God has for you how can you help but lift your voice in song and praise the power of Him Who created and sustains all things? It doesn't matter to God how well you sing. It matters that you take time to praise Him for His mighty deeds. Praise the Lord!

You may experience affliction in your life, maybe even because you hold strong to the faith to which you were called. But, Who was more afflicted than Jesus, hanging on the cross with all the sins of the world upon Him, giving His life for their sake? He died out of love for you. He redeemed you from the curse of your sin. He lifted you up and holds before you the joys of heaven. Even in your times of affliction, rejoice!

One spark can cause a great fire. One word can destroy a relationship. Your tongue can say things in ways you might not mean and become very hurtful. Pray, daily, that your tongue is guarded and your words carefully chosen. When words hurt others ask their forgiveness and seek to reconcile. Ask God to guide you in all you say and do.

"Oh, the good old days", so we hear. Were they really so good? And, you might ask, what is good about the days in which we now live? There can only be one answer to this: the goodness we have we receive from God. So, relish the past, live in the present serving God, and look to the future and all He is doing to prepare you for His place, and His place for you. Such good days are in your future through faith in Jesus!

When people hear the Word of God they may be convicted of their sin. What, then, should they do? Peter gives the answer. Repent. Be baptized, that is, have your sin washed away and become a child of God. Live the forgiveness you have been given. Allow the Holy Spirit, given in Baptism, to lead you in your daily living. This is something you are called to do daily. A one-time event lived daily. Repent. Remember your baptism. Live as God's own child!

Many people will tell you the Bible is full of errors and contradictions. They cannot believe it to be true. Yet, if you ask them, they have never read it. You are called to keep the Word of God. Open it. Read it. Be convicted by it. Allow it to be the guide in your life through the direction of the Holy Spirit. May God's love be perfected in you as you read His Word and, more importantly, may He change you, as share His love with others, to be more like Him!

There is a saying that you do not know what another person is going through unless you walk a mile in his shoes. Jesus did more than that. He took on human flesh, suffered, died and rose from the dead. He left an example of love and forgiveness that is unequaled. He has set you free from sin and eternal death. You may suffer in this world but it cannot be compared to bearing the weight of all mankind's sin. Follow Him through life, death, and the cross to the glories of heaven!

When at a crossroad, do you ever feel a tug as to which way you should go? Could it be the Holy Spirit trying to guide you? Be discerning of the voice. Follow where God leads. Filled with His Spirit He will guide you as you follow the true and living God.
