We would love to see some new faces in our Sunday School! Why not join us tomorrow? Gloria White and Dorrie Thorne have some wonderful activities for the kids. Kids are invited into the sanctuary for a very short kids message following Sunday School. This week, Barb will talk with the kids about forgiving others just as God forgives us. And she has a small "take-away" for each child. We hope to see you! 9:00 am for kids!

Yesterday, our monthly UMW meeting was followed by a crafting activity. Kris Blauvelt of Delaware River Boutique led us in making these beautiful fall decorations. Kris donated her time and all of the materials.

Yesterday was a joyous day at Emory! The congregation welcomed two new members, Matt White and Donna Barber.

When we receive new members into the church, the Service of the Baptismal Covenant is used. This reminds us that becoming a member is more than having our name in the membership records. The new members affirm their faith in Jesus Christ and promise to faithfully participate in the life and ministries of the church. During the service, the congregation also renews its commitment, promising to surround the new members and one another with a community of love and forgiveness while also helping them to grow in their Christian faith.

Church membership is a covenant we enter into together as we help one another grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.

This beautiful service was presided over by our sacramental pastor, Cathy Wilcox.

May God bless Matt and Donna and the entire congregation at Emory UMC.
