Advent’s Pastor Emeritus John Cantey Nye entered the Church Triumphant this past week. Rest eternal grant him, O Lord; and let light perpetual shine upon him. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 3 at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 714 Riverdale Dr., at 10:30 am.

Thanks to Gwin and Lin for representing Advent at last week's 2025 Lutheran Week, the NALC's national mission convocation, in Pittsburgh, PA. It was an opportunity to celebrate God’s faithfulness, renew our vision, recommit ourselves to the mission of making disciples, and revisit old friends.

It was a busy Saturday at Advent. We were happy to provide some free school supplies for our local student neighbors. And thanks to our men’s group for keeping our church home in good order despite yesterday’s heat.
