During his visit to HUMC26, Rev. Al Sharpton reflected on being asked to preach without addressing matters that impact society and communities. His response pointed to a simple truth: from Genesis to Revelation, Scripture is filled with stories of justice, leadership, courage, oppression, liberation, and God's work through His people.

During Evening Worship, Conference Preacher Rev. Dr. Tellis Chapman reminded us that faithfulness has always required courage.

As a people, standing firm in the face of opposition is part of our legacy—and because Christ is "the way, the truth, and the life" (John 14:6), we can remain steadfast no matter the times.
