The world often pulls us in many directions, offering fleeting pleasures that leave us longing for more. But God invites us into a deeper, eternal friendship with Him, one that fills our hearts with peace, purpose, and joy.

The Bible reminds us:
“Don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.” — James 4:4

This isn’t about rejecting the beauty of life but about choosing to place God at the center of it. 1 John 2:15-16 encourages us to turn away from empty desires and embrace the love of the Father. And in Romans 12:2, we are called to transformation through the renewing of our minds, discovering God’s good and perfect will for our lives.

God’s invitation is simple yet profound: “Come near to God and He will come near to you.” — James 4:8

Friendship with God is not a burden but a gift. It is the key to a life of meaning, eternal hope, and true fulfillment. Let us choose Him daily, living with love, grace, and purpose, and bringing His light into the world.

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” — Matthew 6:21

My brothers and sisters, let’s come together in healing, remembering that God has a plan for each of us. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us: ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ As we trust in His plan for our healing, we must also take action for the future of our communities.

One way to do this is by using the power of your vote. Voting is our chance to help build a society that reflects God’s love, peace, and justice. When we vote, we help ensure that everyone’s voice is heard, and we take a stand for the future God desires for His people. Let’s stand strong, heal, and make our voices heard in this season, Amen.
