Matthew 4:10 - "Then Jesus said to him, "Get away from me satan, for it is written, "Worship The Lord your God, and serve only Him."

Have you ever noticed that as a Christian, sometimes it feels like there are forces who are trying to interrupt you from living your life in service to The Lord ? That's because there are.

Today's selection from the Scriptures illustrates that even our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was not exempt from having His time wasted so as to curtail the time that Jesus had available to preach.

Who was it that attempted to keep Jesus occupied in such a way as to keep Jesus from spreading God's Truth to as many people as possible ? satan himself. Spoiler alert ; satan's efforts failed.

The proof of satan failing is that Jesus was tempted (tested) by satan for 40 days in the wilderness ; but the record of that temptation was recorded in the Bible for us to learn from and be encouraged by.

Jesus could have shut down satan's diabolical dialogue at any moment, but Jesus was teaching us that even He would be subject to having His agenda altered.

We should not be surprised when the same scenario plays out in our own lives. If we are in the process of using the Spiritual gifts that God has blessed us with ; we should always be prepared for someone to attempt to stop us from doing that.

satan did it to Jesus, and satan will use anyone he can to do the same to us. Each of us can recall times in our life when we tried to accomplish one relatively minor (in terms of difficulty) task, only to have our efforts interrupted at nearly every turn.

For Pastors and others who lead churches ; the interruptions happen when we are trying to carve out time for deep study into the endless depths and riches of God's Holy and Sacred word.

Suddenly something pops up that either just can't wait or can't be rescheduled and it just so happens to intersect with previously planned times for Biblical "R&R" (research and revelation.)

I keep telling myself that it happened to Jesus, so why should it be any different for me. The clear message that I take away from the interruption is, that to the interrupters, I don't matter.

I've dealt with that so much that it's something that I now plan for. The greater Spiritual benefit of any endeavor ; the more that our efforts will be under attack.

The greater infuriation to me is when Spiritually beneficial efforts are knowingly and gleefully sabotaged by those who know exactly what they are doing.

To me, that is a declaration of Spiritual Warfare ; and appropriate responses will be forthcoming forthwith. Of course those appropriate responses might result in our being labeled "inflexible."

I don't let the analyses of others become a feature presentation in the theater of my mind. My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was labeled inflexible by those who sought to stop Him by any means available.

As we walk the Spiritual path that The Holy Spirit clears for us, we should be aware that our journey is being watched by others. Sometimes those "others" will make every effort to either stop us completely, or at the very least slow us down.

There will be other times though, when someone or something is put into our path so that we can possibly be of aid, comfort, and / or guidance to that person.

Lord, as I walk the path that You have placed before me, I pray to do so with my eyes (physical as well as Spiritual) wide open to the realities around me.

If there are efforts to stop my Spiritually Godward progression, I pray for the wisdom, courage, and Faith to stop those efforts.

If on my journey, I can be a help to anyone or anything ; I pray that I recognize that blessed opportunity, seize it, and make every effort to be of Spiritual support ; just as You Lord have been my never failing Spiritual support for every second of every moment of my life. --- Pastor Tom πŸ™

Job 5:8 - "I would seek unto God, and unto God would I commit my cause:"

In the world today, there is unrest due to an almost worldwide oppression of mankind. There is also, for some people, uncertainty regarding what to do about that.

Today's selection from the Scriptures will have the answer to that, as well as any other of our "What should I do about....." types of questions.

Today's Bible verse offers us perfect guidance from the Biblical book of Job. The background of today's text is that Job's Friend Eliphaz was offering his opinion about what he would do if he was in Job's situation (loss of almost everything in his life).

Eliphaz was trying to be helpful by means of being judgemental ; but that is another sermon for another day..... The advice and counsel that Eliphaz gave Job however, was as perfect for Job as it is for each of us.

When the worst of times rolls in about as peacefully as a torcano (a tornado mixed with a volcano) ; the single best choice we can make is to Faithe by looking to God for guidance.

That is the essence of The LORD's message to us in today's Bible verse ; Job 5:8.

In preparing for this message, I discovered that there were some additional blessings to be discovered by a brief look at some of the words and phrases of today's Scripture reading.

"I would (more literally translated as "I will now, as well as in the future") seek unto God."

When researching this portion of the verse, I discovered that the Syriac language translation had a fitting definition for "seek".

It defines "seek" as "to beat or tread a path to". That is my ultimate goal. Go to God so many times that I create a well worn and clearly defined path for my future returns.

"And unto God would (again, as previously translated, "will now, as in the future") I commit (literally "place, or set") my cause. The "cause" can be whatever situation that we are taking to The LORD in Prayer and Faith.

Lord, I re-commit to bring any plans and any concerns that I have to You (via my well worn path from many previous trips) and set them in Your presence for Your righteous review and judgment.

I will then wait in Faith for The Holy Spirit's always perfect and perfectly timed answer, guidance, and wisdom. --- Pastor TomπŸ™

Luke 9 Verses 49 and 50 - "And John answered and said "Master, we saw someone driving out demons in Your Name, and we tried to stop him because he does not accompany us." But Jesus replied "Do not stop him, because whoever is not against you is for you."

Today's segment from the Scriptures is full with meaning as well as application for our own daily lives. Every Christian has been blessed with certain abilities that they can use to improve their lives as well as the lives of others.

Our relationship with Jesus ensures that we have the absolute best Spiritual "tech support" available. This perfectly and Spiritually synchronistic relationship with our Lord and Savior might swerve us into believing that what we do (how we exist) , we do "exclusively". That is true, but only to a certain extent........

The blessings that we utilize can sometimes be the blessings that others are also gifted. Today's Bible verses speak of driving out demons. To even engage with someone who is demon possessed is an endeavor which requires much Faith.

If you have been blessed with the ability and the Faith to deal with someone who is demon driven, you have a God given talent which should be used to it's fullest potential.

That God given talent is also possessed by other Christians as well. Just as Jesus is with and within us as we battle demonic forces ; so too is He with other Christians as they engage in their own conflicts with the demon driven.

Other Christians who are also fighting the forces of evil may not be with us physically, but as Jesus declares in today's passage from the Scriptures, they are not "against" us. They do not oppose us. They are on the same Spiritual side as we are.

There are legions of people, as well as actual demons, who are doing the devil's bidding. Their numbers are enormous, but by no means overwhelming. It should always be remembered that Jesus plus you makes a prevailing and undefeatable Spiritual force.

Every Christian has been blessed with unique Spiritual gifts which operate in perfect unison with our physical and Spiritual DNA. The Lord leads us to where He wants each of us to be, to present us with opportunities to use those Spiritual gifts as we serve Him.

Wherever The Lord leads us, there may be other Christians there who were given the same Spiritual mission as us, And then again, The Lord may assign us to a certain location in order to be an army of one (two actually, as Jesus is perpetually with and within us.)

The important thing is that we stay focused on paying attention to The Holy Spirit as He guides us in our daily lives. The Spirit will lead us in the way that He wants us to go ; just as He will lead others in the way that He wants them to go.

Lord, I thank You for the abilities that You have blessed me with. Whatever abilities that I possess, I received from You. I pray to use those abilities wisely, in Faith, and in Your name.

I am with You Lord, and more importantly, You are with me. A priceless blessing indeed. --- Pastor Tom πŸ™

2 Timothy 1:7 - "For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."

Fear. Today's selection of Scripture spotlights a Biblical reminder that we have been blessed by God with power, love, and a sound mind ; all of which can transcend fear when fear attempts to insert itself into our life.

There are moments in our life which can result in us stopping in fear and then saying "I don't see a way out of this. Something bad is going to happen ; the only question is ; how bad will it be....."

We've all been there ; and if you find yourself "there", do NOT think that you are somewhat "lesser than" as a Christian.

Today's Bible verse was a great and perfectly timed reminder for me recently. A situation came up where I wondered how it could be resolved without at least a degree of catastrophe coming into my life.......

I prayed, then dove into looking for a message to author here ; and as always, The Holy Spirit pointed me to God's perfect comfort in today's Scripture reading.

I immediately claimed by Faith God's promises of power, love, and a sound mind. I know that I don't possess those things of my own doing ; but God can (and has in the past) bless me with them.

And so He did : just as He will for each of you. All that is required is Faith in Him and Prayer to Him.

After reading 2 Timothy 1:7 ; a type of complete calm washed over me. The chance for catastrophe was still ever present ; however.......

I knew that The LORD God Almighty, as well as my Lord and Savior were watching, with and within me, and ultimately in charge.

The term "a peace that surpasses all understanding" suddenly came to mind. Yet another blessing to thank God for.

No matter what situation tries to impose it's will upon us ; that situation will be no match for The LORD God Almighty, The Holy Spirit, and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Nothing will ever happen in our life that they haven't either authored or allowed. Faith will see us through every situation.

Lord, words cannot properly express my gratitude for Your Grace. When I am feeling low, You Lift me up. When I feel powerless, You bless me with Your Power.

When I need Your love most, You remind me of Your limitless love that is always with and within me.

When my mind is "spinning it's wheels" due to distraction ; You provide the traction that accelerates me in Your direction.

When the fog of fear is beginning to move in ; You debilitate and dissipate that fear with a light that the sun itself is envious of.

Thank You Lord for Your every blessing in my life. Without You and Your Grace ; I simply would not exist. --- Pastor Tom πŸ™

Lamentations 3:22-23 - "It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning : great is Thy faithfulness."

Even when something happens late in the evening which leaves us feeling as if we were hit in the gut with a sledgehammer ; we can be comforted and strengthened by the fact that The LORD is merciful and compassionate.

By His Mercy, we will neither be consumed nor totally destroyed by the impending crisis. Great is The LORD'S faithfulness.

Today's portion of Scripture conveys a blessed and comforting Truth. Every beat of my heart, every breath that I take, is a blessing of the Lord.

I have knocked on Heaven's door more than a few times, but The Lord has always saved me from entering until the exact moment of His choosing.

The Lord's many compassions toward me are unquantifiable. His is the definition of faithfulness. The Lord's compassions are not only new every morning, but at least in my case, they are new minute by minute.

I thank God for His mercy and compassion. Without those, along with countless other blessings ; I would be consumed by this world which is getting more and more depraved each and every day.

With my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with and within me every day and night ; all things are possible, and victory is a guaranteed certainty.

Thank you Lord for another day, another chance to do better at serving You than I did yesterday. --- Pastor Tom πŸ™

Judges 2:1-3 - V1 -"Now the Angel of The LORD went up to Gilgal to Bochim, and said "I brought you up out of Egypt and led you into the land that I had promised to your fathers, and I said, 'I will never break my covenant with you,
V2 - and you are not to make a covenant with the people of this land, but you shall tear down their altars.' Yet you have not obeyed my voice. What is this that you have done ?

V3 - So now I tell you that I will not drive out these people before you ; they will be thorns in your sides, and their gods will be a snare to you."

Today's message is one which will cover both past and current events. This will be done from a Biblical perspective. Judges 2 verses 1-3 reveal the moment that God told Israel of the consequences of their not obeying His direct order to take the land of Canaan.

Canaan is the geographic location of modern day Palestine and Gaza. It was over three thousand years ago when God told the Israelites to take that land as their own. Three thousand years ago.

Fast forward to the "now" ; present day. After being told by The LORD God Almighty that he will let the Canaanites (people of modern day Gaza and Palestine) keep that land ; the modern day nation of Israel decides that now ; over three thousand years later , they will finally obey God.

Sorry, not sorry, but it doesn't work that way. A modern day parallel equivalent would be if God told someone that was 18 years old to apply for a job at a certain company ; and that He (God) would ensure that they got the job.

The 18 year old person ignores God for 40 years, and is now 58 years old. They stroll over to the company, grab the person doing the job that God promised the (once) 18 year old (40 years ago) ; and throw them out of the building.

That is absolutely not behavior that God would endorse. When God promises people in the Bible something (based on their having the Faith to follow God's command to seize the promise); that promise would only come true if the people that God made the promise to followed God's direct order and acted in Faith.

In Judges 2:3 it is made crystal clear what the punishment was going to be for Israel's disobedience and disfaith.

Israel forfeited the right to claim Canaan (Palestine / Gaza) as their land ; so God would let the residents of Canaan stay there as a reminder of Israel's lack of Faith and insubordinate rebelliousness towards God.

That was Israel's punishment over three thousand years ago. A punishment for not having the Faith to act on God's promise.

The modern day nation of Israel is claiming that there are / were terrorists within Gaza and Lebanon that were responsible for the deaths of Israelis. That is a reasonable and believable claim. The nation of Israel had every right to enter those areas, find, and eliminate those terrorists. The terrorists ; not women and children.

The modern day nation of Israel has ("allegedly") murdered many thousands (perhaps over a million by now) of people in Gaza and Lebanon in an effort to act on God's promise that was made and revoked over three thousand years ago.

God may allow the modern day nation of Israel to get away with what they are doing for a brief moment in history, but there is a word for that. It's a "test".

Just as God did with the planners of the plandemic ; God will allow the authors of evil to carry out their diabolical plan, all the while giving them a chance to stop. To Repent.

While the diabolically evil plan is being carried out ; God is also giving people an opportunity to stand up and say that evil is being perpetrated.

This is a test to see if people will have the Faith to stand up, or whether the people will choose dis-Faith ; and stay silent as many thousands die at the hands of people who are doing the bidding of the devil.

Standing up and speaking the Truth can have consequences. Sometimes life ending consequences. Charlie Kirk dared to speak the Truth, and he was publicly assassinated only days later.

As for Faith Central Ministries, as well as myself, Pastor of Faith Central Ministries ; Truth will always be spoken. Without hesitation, and without regret or apology.

The most famous person to ever suffer the most horrifically painful consequences for speaking the Truth in all of History was our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Jesus never concerned Himself with consequences, and neither will I. He is my ultimate example of courageously speaking the Truth to anyone and everyone ; and it is His example which I will follow for the entirety of my life. --- Pastor Tom πŸ™

A very happy and completely blessed Memorial Day to everyone, from myself, Tom Dufresne, Pastor of Faith Central Ministries. To all those who have sacrificed their lives for my freedom ; I owe a debt that I can never repay. --- Pastor Tom

John 15:13 KJV - "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
John 15:13 TDT - "Greater love has no one than this, that they lay down their life for their friends."

The King James Version of the Bible is the standard foundational Bible which I use here at Faith Central Ministries ; but there are times when a more literal, more accurate translation may be required in order to fully convey the depth of Truth and meaning behind a particular Bible verse.

Today's portion of Scripture is just such an example. I included both the KJV and the TDT versions of today's Bible verse because it is imperative to present this Bible verse in the manner in which it was actually written ; and should be understood.

The differences between the KJV and the TDT in today's Bible verse are but a few ; but as we will see, those differences are undeniably and considerably substantial.

The King James Version implies that men are the only ones who should be in consideration for sacrificing their lives for others.

To be perfectly honest and accurate, that idea is ridiculous. And that is why that is NOT what the Bible actually says.

The King James translators decided to translate the gender neutral original Greek New Testament language word "Udays" (Ooh-Dice) as "man".

That is unfortunate because, after sifting through a great deal of Greek grammar ; it can be determined that a better and more literal phrase to use in place of "no man" would be "no one". That would more properly and accurately include women.

While today's Bible verse is a perfect one to bring to mind when remembering the ultimate sacrifices paid by the men and women of our United States military ; there are additional things to remember.......

While this is Memorial Day here in America ; this day should by no means be the only day of the year that we remember the lives that have been sacrificed in order that we can enjoy the blessings of Liberty and Freedom.

We would do well to remember each and every day why it is that The United States Of America has remained the single greatest beacon of Hope, Liberty, and Freedom for the entire world.

This is because the best and bravest men and women have fought for, and sometimes gave their lives in defense of those blessings. That truly is love personified.

Another aspect of today's Bible verse which absolutely can NOT be overlooked is that there was (and still remains) someone who paid the most definitive sacrifice so that humankind can avail itself of the privilege and blessing of putting their lives in His blessed care.

By now, I'm sure you know that I'm referring to the sacrifice made by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

There was and is no greater love than that of Jesus Christ, and the ultimate actualization and realization of that love was His sacrifice on the cross.

The sacrifice made by Jesus Christ should also not be remembered only on one particular day a year, but each and every day of our lives ; and multiple times daily.

On this day, Memorial Day, I will remember the ultimate sacrifices of our men and women of The United States military ; as well as the Ultimate Sacrifice which enables those, as well as all other sacrifices to be made ; the sacrifice of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I will also endeavor to remember both of those sacrifices each and every day of my life ; as I enjoy all of the blessings that are made possible because of those sacrifices. --- Pastor Tom πŸ™

Psalm 120:1 - "In my distress I cried unto the LORD, and he heard me."

When searching for a selection from Scripture to highlight today, The Holy Spirit led me to Psalm 120 Verse 1. As of late, The Holy Spirit has been guiding me toward verses from The Bible which provide comfort, strength, endurance, and Faith to those who need it. I Love when He does that.

Today's Bible verse speaks of distress. Sometimes we have the paradoxical blessing / curse of seeing our distress coming. There may be times when we can prepare for it. Sometimes all we can do is B.F.I. (Brace For Impact.)

At other times we may be blindsided, and find ourselves in a heap asking ourselves "What just happened ?"

Sometimes, the "what" of "what just happened ?" can happen quicker than a hiccup. Life can be like that at times.....

Wherever, whenever, and however we find ourselves in any type or level of distress, we, like the Psalmist, should cry (literally "call out for help" in Prayer) to the LORD.

Our call for help will result in the LORD not just "hearing" us, but literally "answering" us. Every time ; and always in His perfect timing.

It is no coincidence that The Bible (as well as ourselves, hopefully) refer to God as our "Heavenly Father".

Our earthly parents always answered our calls for help without delay when we were children (and for the rest of their lives, if everyone was as blessed as I.) So too will our Heavenly Father answer our Prayers for the entirety of our lives. That, is a Biblical guarantee.

Thank You LORD for answering our every call, our every Prayer. We know that our Prayers reach You with Godspeed ; and Your answer will always reach us when You decide that the timing is perfect for it to do so. A priceless blessing indeed. --- Pastor Tom πŸ™

05/21/2026

Jonah 2:2 - "In my distress I called to The LORD, and He answered me. Out of the belly of the realm of the dead I cried, and You answered me."

In today's Scripture reading, Jonah is describing how he cried out to The LORD when he (Jonah) was in the belly of the whale (or as Jonah describes it ; "the belly of the realm of the dead".)

I'm sure that we all have been in situations where we can relate to Jonah. In those situations, The LORD will hear our Prayers just as He heard Jonah's.

Today's selection from the word of God is a great verse for times of darkness of spirit.
"In my distress I called to The LORD, and He answered me."

Whenever situations are troubling us mentally, physically, financially, Spiritually, or in any other manner, our best option is to cry in Prayer to the LORD.

Sometimes a good "primal scream" releases a lot of pent up emotions, but that's about it. Crying out to the LORD in Prayer (at whatever volume level you feel appropriate) results in Him hearing us.

If there was ever One who would completely and perfectly understand our problems, it is The LORD.

"Out of the belly of the realm of the dead I cried, and You answered me."

It matters not how low we think that we are, or how "without hope" our situation appears to us. With the LORD, there is no such thing as "without hope" ; or a state of being that is so far down that He can't hear us.

Even when our minds are so distraught that we find ourselves at a complete loss for words ; if we cry out to the LORD in prayer, He will still hear us. Silent Prayers (those without audible words) are no less effective than those spoken out loud.

As the Psalmist wrote in Psalm 34:4 - "I sought the LORD, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears."

I can identify and agree with that by means of first hand experience, as I know that you can too.

Lord, I thank You for hearing my every cry for help ; even when those cries are "silent screams." --- Pastor Tom πŸ™

05/20/2026

Job 34:3 - "For the ear tests words, as the mouth tastes food."

God has blessed most of us with five senses. They are the senses of seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting and feeling.

Some of us are blessed with a "sixth sense" ; the Spiritual sense of intuition, commonly known as a "third eye, or "gut instinct."

The senses spoken about in Job 34:3 are the senses of hearing and taste. As we will see in today's Faith Central Ministries Message ; those two senses, like all of our senses, are very closely related.

Today's message is inspired by the Biblical book of Job, and a statement that is made by Job's Friend Elihu.

Elihu declares that when our ears hear words that are spoken ; they (our ears) analyze what they've heard ; just like our mouth "analyzes" the food that it tastes.

The general concept is that our ears accept what we feel is true, and reject what we feel is not. In the same manner, when we taste something that we find unacceptable ; we stop eating it.

The concepts of hearing and eating have a Spiritual commonality with our other senses.......

That commonality is that all of our senses are a blessing from God ; given to us so that we can determine what is acceptable (to God first, and then to us) ; and what is not acceptable.

We use our senses as a type of "gateway" so that things have to be analyzed before being allowed to pass through.

This prepares us for honing our ability (also blessed to us by God) to discern what is right and righteous Spiritually ; and what is not. The Holy Spirit is the source of that ability residing within us.

Returning to Job's Friend Elihu ; he is making the point that we should use our ability to hear words being spoken (or perhaps "see" those words, if we are hearing impaired, or without hearing) to filter what is being said.

That filter is The Holy Bible, where we will find the will and ways of The Lord God Almighty, as well as His Son ; our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Any words that we hear or see that are in Spiritual harmony with The words of The Bible are acceptable. Any words that are in opposition to the ways of God or Jesus Christ are to be rejected.

There have been many times when I've heard something, thought that it sounded reasonable, and then later found out that it wasn't true.

That is guaranteed never to happen when the "words" are those in the Bible. With the Word of God, we never have to "try" or "test" it to see if it is true.

Thank God for that blessed and unchanging truth. Truth is getting harder and harder to come by in the world today.

Thank You Lord for blessing us with "True Truth" ; as You are it's source. --- Pastor Tom πŸ™
