This past weekend, three of our own from Hope UMC attended the United Women in Faith Assembly in Indianapolis! Over 3,000 women from around the world gathered together to celebrate the many ways United Women in Faith makes mission happen, build an abundant life for all, and dream boldly for the future.

The weekend featured powerful and inspiring messages from Stacey Abrams, Carolyn Abrams, Stephanie York Arnold, and our Indiana Bishop Tracy S. Malone. It was an uplifting and faith-filled experience that encouraged all who attended to continue serving boldly in God’s mission.

Jesus prays for our unity and glorification in him, calling us to live as one body grounded in love and grace. What an amazing gift! We can’t wait to see the impact this will have on the youth.

🎉 We have some incredible news to share!

The Indiana Conference of The United Methodist Church has been awarded a $19,657,500 grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. to invest in our residential youth camps across the state!

The grant will be distributed among four of our camps:

Camp Adventure: $2,410,500
Epworth Forest: $10,000,000
Camp Indicoso: $2,427,000
Camp Lakewood: $4,820,000

"This extraordinary investment in the lives of young people across Indiana will have a transformational impact for generations to come," said Bishop Tracy S. Malone.

This gift, combined with a previous $6.5 million Lilly Endowment grant awarded in December 2025, represents a truly generational investment in the future of camp ministry in Indiana.

"We are so excited to receive this generational gift and are looking forward to the impact this will have on students in Indiana," said Nick Yarde, Director of Outdoor Ministries.

We are so grateful for Lilly Endowment's partnership and commitment to the young people of Indiana. The best is yet to come! 🙏

✏️📓 We’re Hosting a Used School Supply Drive!
As the school year wraps up, many gently used supplies end up in the trash. Instead, we’re partnering with Midwest Mission to collect usable school supplies for students in Honduras who don’t have access to basic materials.

You can help!

🗓 Collection Dates: May 4-June 1
📍 Drop-Off Location: 7320 Northcote Avenue, Hammond, IN
📦 Items Needed: Gently used notebooks, pencils, crayons, folders, scissors, colored pencils, erasers, pens, rulers, etc. (Please do not donate 3-ring binders)

Please only donate items in good condition — if you wouldn’t give it to a loved one, please don’t donate it.

Let’s turn leftover supplies into tools for opportunity! 💛

In an effort to more thoroughly prepare certified lay speakers to fill pulpits in your absence, the District Committee on Lay Servant Ministry has approved the creation of a cohort that will start this summer.

This cohort will be a great place to learn, practice, and develop confidence. Students must take the Intro to Lay Ministry (Basic) class before joining the cohort.

Consider this opportunity and share it in your churches!

Join us for worship this Sunday!

Jesus declares, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” In a world full of competing voices and uncertain paths, we gather to center ourselves in Christ—exploring how our faith not only shapes what we believe, but how we live each day. Together, we’ll reflect on how trusting in God guides our choices and strengthens our witness as a community.

Our scriptures for the day are Psalm 31:1–5, 15–16 and John 14:1–14.

It’s also a joyful and meaningful day in the life of our church as we celebrate Confirmation Sunday, welcoming seven youth into full membership in our congregation. Come be part of this special moment as we affirm their faith and surround them with love and support.
