There are millions of American being affected by the Winter Storm Fern right now. After the storm passes, the damage she wreaked will be accessed. Since SVDP -USA Disaster Services is in partnership with the American Red Cross and FEMA and the VOAD (Volunteer Organizations assisting in Disasters) group, they will be involved in the recovery in communities across the path of this storm. Please support their efforts to stabilize everyone effected by storm damage and destruction. Please pray for the victims and their first responders also.

Please support the SVDP Council fundraiser on Friday, December 5th from 4 pm to 8 pm. Just tell the cashier that you want your order to support the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. The percentage we make goes to the SVDP Special Assistance fund that assists those in need with financial assistance for utilities and housing as well as purchasing new beds for our neighbors in need in crisis situations. The 26th Annual Caps for Kids Program starts in November. We are collecting new hats, scarves gloves and mittens to be distributed to Community organizations and agencies, Churches, Shelters, Women's Centers, Soup kitchens, other SVDP conferences, etc. to provide warm Winter items to those in need. You can donate new items or send a check towards purchasing these items. I just placed a big order for hats and gloves with a SVDP National distributer partner that gives us a great price by the case. You can drop off items at the SVDP Center 2714 169th St. Hammond, IN next door to the fire station and across the street from Van Tils. SVDP does not discriminate. We assist with the need. That is our mission.
