Sunday Recap: Free Indeedšš¾
This past Sunday, Pastor Scott started our freedom series, āFree Indeed,ā and reminded us that freedom doesnāt start with behavior. It starts with Jesus.
In John 8:31ā36, Jesus makes it clear: real freedom isnāt found in what we claim, but in Who we follow. When we abide in His Word, we donāt just hear truth, we are changed by it. Because if the Son sets you free, that freedom is not partial, temporary, or surface-level⦠it is free indeed.
We were reminded through Isaiah 61:1 that Jesus came to proclaim liberty to the captives, to heal whatās broken and unlock whatās been bound. And we saw it lived out in Luke 8, where a man completely overtaken by darkness encountered Jesus, and everything changed. What chains couldnāt hold, Jesus completely broke.
Freedom starts with Jesus. But itās experienced within.
Itās not just about being set free externally, itās about being transformed internally. The work He does in you begins to heal, restore, and renew every hidden place.
And real freedom never stops with you, it affects others.
Just like the man in Luke 8, we are called to go and tell what Jesus has done. Your freedom becomes someone elseās hope. Your testimony becomes proof that Jesus still delivers, still restores, and still sets people free.
Even stories like Benjamin Franklin acknowledging the impact of George Whitefield remind us of this truth. He noted that movements like the American Revolution were stirred in part by men like Whitefield because when hearts are awakened and made free, they can no longer be held captive by a king.
So if you were there Sunday, donāt just celebrate freedom, walk in it. And if youāre still believing for it, stay close to Jesus.
Because freedom isnāt a feeling, itās a person. And in Him, you are truly free.
Donāt miss the next three weeks as we continue this powerful series and lean into what Jesus has already paid for. There is more freedom, more healing, and more transformation ahead for those who stay close to Him.ā„ļø
