The sinless life of the Blessed Virgin Mary and her total obedience to God exemplify every person’s need for grace, explains Supreme Chaplain Archbishop William Lori in his column for the May issue of Columbia.

Meet Deacon Candidate John Ryals, who will be ordained to the Permanent Diaconate this Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Cathedral.

“Becoming a deacon, for me, is the culmination of a life-long process of learning to love and serve God by offering myself to others. In a choice between serving the world or God, I choose God. My hope of serving the Church as a deacon is that I can authentically be the person God has created me to be – encouraging, teaching, and serving.”

Yesterday evening the Knights of Columbus Council #2952 had the privilege of hosting a dinner to honor Lieutenant Eric Watson, an officer who has demonstrated faith, integrity, bravery, & courage.

On April 14th 2026, Lieutenant Watson without regard for his own safety disarmed a gunman approach the school which he was protecting. We thank him for his service.
