Ethel United Baptist Church

Ethel United Baptist Church Service to our Savior and our fellowman. The Church was rebuilt and relocated at the forks of the road on September 1, 1951.

The Ethel United Baptist Church was organized Sept 22, 1934 on Scary Creek Road
in the "Old School Building" from an arm of the Harveys Creek United Baptist Church. The Church was rebuilt and relocated at the mouth of the road next to route 3. On August 14, 1994 the current building was dedicated.

Marlene Sue Mullins of West Hamlin, WV, was born on December 4, 1938, and passed away on May 4, 2026 at the age of Eighty Seven years and Five months. She was the daughter of the late Theodore Rosevelt Hoskinson and Phoebe Irene (Bragg) Hoskinson and also preceded in death by one brother; Ronnie Gail Hoskinson.

She was a member of the Ethel United Baptist Church, Sweetland, WV.

She is survived by one daughter; Rebecca Lynn (Glenn) Rakes, one son; Steven Carl Mullins (Debbie Williamson), four sisters-in-law; Jane Prather, Pauline Norris, Judy Mullins, Renee Mullins Maynard, four grandchildren; Shane Allen Rakes (Jamey), Jeremy Shawn Rakes, Cassidy Nicole (Thomas) Watts, Tina LeAnn King, thirteen great grandchildren; Kyle Steven Rakes, Dylan Bryce Rakes, Jordan Ashley Rakes, Aaron LaRoque, Joshua Banks, Ethan Rakes, Macey Carr, Liana Owen, Mason Watts, Luke Watts, Ellie Watts, Caiden King and Eli King, two great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin, WV with Preacher Donny Davis and Elder Steve Eplin officiating, Interment will follow in Enon Cemetery, Salt Rock, WV. Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin, WV.
