Pen Pals Needed!

The Barnabas Pen Pal Program currently has 14 youth residing in partnering long-term placement facilities across the state of Michigan who are waiting for a pen pal. Would you be willing to consider becoming a pen pal with us? Or, sharing this information with someone you know who may be interested?

Our Pen Pal program is a letter writing ministry to teens in long-term placement facilities. Our adult pen pals write weekly letters to their assigned youth in order to share the healing, hope, and freedom found in Jesus Christ. Our pen pals offer encouragement, grace, and truth to their pen pal and commit to praying for their pen pal regularly. Some of our youth pen pals are pretty good about writing back, others not so much. The adult pen pal commitment is to continue ministering to the youth through writing letters weekly, even if the youth does not write back. Many pen pal matches are for 4-6 months, though they could be longer if the youth is in their facility for a lengthy period of time.

3rd Annual Cars & Cones

The 3rd Annual Cars & Cones event hosted by Hawks Nest Restaurant in Hamilton is coming up on Sunday, August 23 from 2-6pm! The team at Hawks Nest has graciously decided to designate Barnabas Ministries as the recipient of the money raised through the 50/50 raffle, as well as any proceeds above cost from the event!

Join us for an afternoon of fun, sweet treats and cool cars!

• Barnabas Back to School Event, August 20 - for God's will to be done and His perfect plan to be accomplished through this event, for our youth and families to be blessed and have a positive, Christ-centered experience as they get ready to head back to school
• New Volunteers - more volunteers are needed throughout the Family of Ministries; God's provision in connecting people who love Him, love teens, and want to make a Kingdom impact in our community

Our Back to School Event is this week Thursday. We could still use your help collecting supplies for take and bake meal kits, over-the-ear earphones for our elementary students, ear buds for our middle and high school students, folders for all ages, and single serve ice cream treats to be served the night of the event.
