What Church are You a Member Of?

(Act 20:15) And we sailed thence, and came the next day over against Chios; and the next day we arrived at Samos, and tarried at Trogyllium; and the next day we came to Miletus.
(Act 20:16) For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.
(Act 20:17) And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church.

Notice that the word church is singular because there is only one church.

(Eph 4:4) There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
(Col 1:18) And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

So What Church was Paul referring to?

(Act 20:28) Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
(Act 20:29) For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
(Act 20:30) Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

What if Paul were alive today and called for the elders of the church and he was introduced to the Father of the Catholic church, the Prophet of the Mormon church, the Reverend of the Wesleyan church, the Doctor of Divinity of the Baptist church, along with a few leaders of other churches.

I think there would be some fiery indignation.

(1Co 1:12) Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
(1Co 1:13) Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?

(1Co 12:25) That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.

(Mar 3:24) And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
(Mar 3:25) And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

What church are you a member of?

1/19/2020 Sunday Morning Message "The Sermon on the Mount"

(Mat 5:1) And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:

He was sitting down as was the custom of Jewish Rabbis.

(Mat 5:2) And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,

(Mat 5:3) Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Those that recognize their poor spiritual condition and repent.

(Mat 5:4) Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Those that are pricked in their heart with Godly sorrow.

(Mat 5:5) Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

Those that are superior to none, The new earth in 2 Peter 3:13

(Mat 5:6) Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Not their own righteousness but God's (Rom 10:3) For they
being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to
establish their own righteousness, have not submitted
themselves unto the righteousness of God.

(Mat 5:7) Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

Those that offer forgiveness, pity, and alms giving.

(Mat 5:8) Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

Inward purity, without sin, not the righteousness of the
Pharisees (MT 5:20)

(Mat 5:9) Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Those that follow peace with all men and endeavor for unity.

(Mat 5:10) Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Those that are tormented for their stand against sin.

(Mat 5:11) Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Those that suffer persecution from false witnesses for Jesus' sake.

(Mat 5:12) Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

1/12/2020 Sunday Morning Message "Are Ye Born Again?"

Few people, whether in the world or in religion, know what it really means to be born again.

(Joh 3:5) Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Some people think they are born again because they believe, or were baptized in water, or joined a church, asked for forgiveness, or some other notion, but how do we know one is born again?

(1Co 6:9) Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
(1Co 6:10) Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
(1Co 6:11) And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

One is not born again unless they have turned from sin to righteousness.

(Num 24:17) I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth.
(Num 24:18) And Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession for his enemies; and Israel shall do valiantly.
(Num 24:19) Out of Jacob shall come he that shall have dominion, and shall destroy him that remaineth of the city.

(Mat 2:1) Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
(Mat 2:2) Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

"Walking in Shadows"

(Col 2:16) Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
(Col 2:17) Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Too many people are still walking in the shadows, neither light or darkness, but in shady doctrines.

(Joh 12:35) Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.

"Divorce and Remarriage"

(1Co 7:10) And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:
(1Co 7:11) But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.

(1Co 7:15) But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bo***ge in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.

(1Co 7:27) Art thou bound unto a wife? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife.
(1Co 7:28) But and if thou marry, thou hast not sinned; and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned. Nevertheless such shall have trouble in the flesh: but I spare you.

"The Sun, The Moon, and The Stars"

When used symbolically what do the sun, the moon, and the stars represent, according to the Bible?

(Gen 37:9) And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me.
(Gen 37:10) And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth?
(Gen 37:11) And his brethren envied him; but his father observed the saying.

6/2/2019 Sunday Morning Message
"What Would Jesus Say If He Were Here Today?"

Probably,

I am the way, the truth, and the life.
The harvest truly is plenteous.
Preach the Gospel.
Repent.
Sin no more.
Ye must be born again.
Receive ye the Holy Ghost.
I am still building my church.
If you deny me I will deny you before my father.
Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
I will come again.

Pretty much everything he said while he was on earth still holds true today.

This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased, hear ye him.
