Why We Gather

There is something special about God’s people coming together. In a world that constantly pulls us in different directions, church is a place where we are reminded of who God is, encouraged by fellow believers, and strengthened through His Word.

Church isn’t about checking a box or simply attending a service. It’s about worshiping the One who gave everything for us. It’s where burdens are shared, prayers are lifted, hearts are changed, and lives are transformed by the power of Jesus Christ.

Maybe you’ve had a difficult week. Maybe you’ve felt discouraged, overwhelmed, or distant from God. Don’t let those feelings keep you away. Those are often the moments when you need to gather with God’s people the most.

The Bible reminds us:

Hebrews 10:24-25 (KJV)

“And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”

We would love to welcome you this Sunday. Come expecting God to move. Come ready to worship. Come just as you are, and allow the Lord to speak to your heart.

John 13:34-35 (KJV)

“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.”

There are questions in life that we cannot fully answer. We may not understand why suffering comes, why tragedy strikes, or why faithful people endure difficult seasons. Yet even in those moments, God’s Word points us to something we can do, we can love.

Jesus never promised that life in this world would be free from trouble, but He did command His followers to love one another as He has loved us. His love was compassionate, sacrificial, patient, and full of grace.

As the Church, we are called to reflect that same love. When someone is hurting, we don’t always need to have the perfect words. Sometimes the greatest ministry is simply being present, showing compassion, praying faithfully, and pointing people to the hope found in Christ.

May Christ Church always be a place where broken hearts find love, weary souls find hope, and every person is reminded that Jesus is with them through every season.

We may not have every answer, but we know the One who never changes.

James 4:7-8 (KJV)

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”

The Christian life begins and continues with surrender to Jesus Christ.

When we submit ourselves to God, we acknowledge that His wisdom is greater than ours, His ways are perfect, and His Word is our authority. As we draw near to Him, He faithfully draws near to us, giving us strength to resist temptation and remain steadfast in our faith.

Fixing our eyes on Jesus changes the way we live. Instead of being consumed by the distractions and pressures of this world, we become focused on pleasing the One who gave His life for us.

May our hearts be fully surrendered to Christ, our eyes fixed on Him, and our lives marked by faithful obedience.

The safest place to be is surrendered to Jesus.

Galatians 6:1 (KJV)

“Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.”

As followers of Christ, we are called to help one another grow in faith. However, Scripture teaches that correction must begin with humility.

Before addressing the faults of another believer, we should first examine our own hearts before God. We all need His grace, and none of us are without struggles. When we recognize our own dependence on the Lord, we are able to restore others with gentleness rather than condemnation.

Our goal should never be to win an argument or prove someone wrong. Our goal is restoration, encouragement, and pointing one another closer to Jesus Christ.

May we be a church known for humility, grace, and truth, allowing God to work in us before He works through us to help others.

❤️ Humility opens the door for restoration.

Luke 19:10 (KJV)

“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

Jesus came with one mission, to seek and save the lost.

As His followers, we are called to share that same heart. Every person we encounter has eternal value because every person is made in the image of God. Whether they are family members, lifelong friends, strangers, or even those who oppose us, Christ’s desire is that they would hear the Gospel and come to repentance.

The Church is not called to love only those who are easy to love. We are called to reflect the love of Christ to everyone. When we see people through the eyes of Jesus, compassion replaces bitterness, forgiveness replaces resentment, and we begin to pray for every soul instead of judging them.

May our church always be a place where every person is welcomed with the love of Christ and where the Gospel is faithfully proclaimed to all.

Every soul matters because every soul matters to Jesus.
