Very typically when we hear or ask this question “Why Me Lord?” it’s more like l expressing a complaint, why am I or someone else suffering, having a bad time of things, voicing a cry of life’s seemingly unfair negativity being focused on an undeserving person? Upon close self-reflection, the words of this great song Kris Kristtopherson has penned have definitely exposed an embarrassing spot in my heart, one that points to a self-centered and arrogant individual. So many memories go into this old Oak Tree which is 41 years old. Brad brought it home from school as a sapling when he was in the 3rd grade. He planted it in a metal coffee can and then replanted it in the ground by the barn where it is growing now. It is an acorn producing factory. We thank God for this Oak Tree and hopefully if you are reading this, you too will remember the love of watching trees, plants, and people grow.
