Yesterday, we lost a good friend on the sidewalks of East Avenue—Cowboy.

Over the last four years of ministry, Cowboy spent more time than anyone sitting and listening to me preach. He’s actually the one who gave me the nickname “the Donut Preacher.”

Cowboy could be rough around the edges—sometimes even flat-out rude—but if you knew him, you knew there was a softness in him that you couldn’t help but love.

I’ll never forget the day he gave his life to the Lord. He was dancing up and down the sidewalks, telling everyone he could find about Jesus. It was real. It was joyful. It was unforgettable.

Yeah, he had moments where he drifted back into some hard ways—but I’m confident in this: Cowboy made a decision that mattered. And because of that, I believe I’ll see him again in heaven.

He’ll be greatly missed. ❤️
