Many years ago, I prayed a repetitive simple prayer: “God, pour out Your Spirit on our church.”

Not so we can have a better church service, but so we could see transformed lives. So we could see broken people find wholeness, so we could see addicts find something greater than a substance, so we could see the fruit of the spirit overflowing into homes and our community.

What I didn’t realize was that some of the people God would answer that prayer through… I hadn’t even met yet. They weren’t in the room when I prayed it. Some weren’t part of our church. Some were still walking roads that would eventually lead them here.

But God already knew their names. And now I get a front-row seat to watch Him change lives, restore families, break chains, heal hearts, and raise people to new life. There’s something incredibly humbling about watching God do a work in someone else that you once prayed for before you ever knew who they were. Many of those people are now leaders in our church and it’s so wonderful to watch God pour through them into others.

Sometimes the answer to the prayer you’re praying today is walking toward you—and you haven’t even met them yet. So Keep praying. God is working in people you don’t know, in places you can’t see, preparing answers you couldn’t possibly imagine. So don’t give up. ❤️

One key to a long marriage: Never stop dating!

We’ve learned something through the years: you don’t have to wait for a vacation, an anniversary, or a special occasion to enjoy the life God has given you. You can choose to enjoy each day God blesses you with.

Sometimes the good stuff looks like sneaking away in the middle of the day, finding a little place with some homemade pies, sitting across the table from the person you love, and laughing about absolutely nothing.

Life moves fast. Kids grow up. Calendars fill up. Seasons change. So eat the bread. Take the date. Laugh a little longer. And thank God for the ordinary moments that one day you’ll realize weren’t ordinary at all. ❤️

I’m just really glad God didn’t limit my life to what I could imagine. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined this life. A father of six and now holding grandbaby number six.

If you would’ve shown the younger version of me this picture, I wouldn’t have believed it. To be honest, it might have scared me at that time. I had plans for my life. Ideas of what I thought it would look like. But somewhere along the way, God wrote a story so much bigger, fuller, and better than anything I could’ve written for myself.

Six kids. Six grandbabies. More love, more laughter, more chaos, more memories, and more grace than I ever knew my heart could hold.

His plans were better than mine and I’m living in prayers I didn’t even know to pray. God has been so, so good.❤️
