Notes from the Pastor

Revelation 2:9-10
"I know your works, tribulation, and poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life."

In this excerpt, we read about the persecution of the church in Smyrna. They suffered greatly because of their environment and the unbelievers that surrounded them. When we read of their example, we should be reminded that it is never too difficult to serve God. We have so many opportunities to serve Christ, especially when we consider how many privileges and freedoms we have as Americans. Make a commitment to God today; you'll never regret securing your eternity!

Notes from the Pastor

Romans 3:23
"...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God..."

Have you ever told yourself that you didn't need to be a Christian because you were already a good enough person? Perhaps you are kind and generous; maybe you are forgiving and honest. While these are great qualities, they will not get you into Heaven. Over and over again in the Bible, the Lord tells us there are none good but God. We have all sinned, and we have all fallen short. Repent today and be assured of your salvation!
